This is an old short story I wrote a few years back. Very short, short sequence enjoy.

Claws extended, he jumped, grasping the ledge." Brother! Help me!" Mufasa pleaded. Simba could only hear the scratches and the noise of the roaring wildebeest herd, thundering below him. He prayed it would be okay, that this was just going to end up like the run in with the filthy hyena's and his father would grin, and wrestle with him. "DAD!" He called out, there was no answer just scratches, he scanned but was unable to see the horrid, scene availing a few meters from him, where Mufasa was coming face to face with his brethren, Scar; and ultimately death.

Mufasa's whole life flashed before him as Scar uttered those words of impending doom. He thought what he could have done to cause his brother to do this. His cub hood memories came upon him. He was to be chosen as king first, Taka second inline; his father always had favoritism over them. Taka, was always considered weak, second in line and a nothing. As for Mufasa, he was considered strong, brave and well respected. And he got his first pick of the lionesses. He had chosen Sarabi. Which had been Taka's girl friend, so that caused much anger between them. And his nick- name Scar which Mufusa teased him so cruel, because of his injury caused by of course Ahadi and Mufasa. They were rough on him and played rough with him, banged him up when they wrestled, there kind loving mother, Akase stopped this madness though she wanted nothing but happiness for her beloved boys and especially Taka.

Mufasa flashed back and an evil smirk formed across Scar's face, "Long live the king." He let go and Mufasa fell, and his last thoughts were of his son and wife, what would Scar tell them and what would happen to his kingdom. He hit the ground and died, instantaneously.


Simba cried out, "Dad!" He saw him fall, he witnessed the death, he hoped his father was alive, there memories flashed before him and regrets of being there in that gorge, that day formed. Simba's life was changed that day forever, and what his uncle told him was never expected of, and the lion cub would believe it and think he was the cause of the horrible tragedy for years to come..

That's a nice fan fiction, you should write a larger one about Taka and Mufasa.

I like your style! Very short, sweet (?), and true to the feel of the scene at hand when Mufasa is seconds from death. Plus the addition of the sibling rivalry . . . . yay, awesome.

That's the best thing you could do . Is it just me or did Simba's personality change in Simba's Pride? I mean, Simba was more like a stubborn teenager then a protecting father.

Thanks for the agreement, I hate it how they change the characters, not only in personality but also in design, just look at Nala her eyes are blue in the second film while in the first, her eyes are more like a greenish-blue tint...I'm sorry,I'm nagging again.

I don't think a slight colour change in the eye matters, I barely noticed.
