why is it that everyone hates rap here? I mean I know there are some rappers that only sing about guns, money and disrespecting woman and stuff..but some of them actually have songs that are about real stuff that's happening to the world and stuff..look here's 67 songs that don't talk about guns and disrespecting woman, if you don't wanna listen to any of them, then look up the lyrics for some...

there I just gave you 27 more!...and also, if rap is disrespecting woman, then why is there so many female rappers? Like Mary J Blige, Christina Milian, Mariah Carey, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Rah Digga, Ciara, Amerie, Ashanti, Beyonce, Destinys Child, Cherish, Olivia, Shawnna, Missy Elliot, Lala, Lil Shanice, Trina, Rema Ma, and lots more...and if this isnt the reason why you don't like rap, then what is the reason? Because if you think there's no point...then answer this..What's the point of rock music? And sorry if this offends anyone, but I'm just trying to prove a point, and say my opinion...

and I know there are some rappers, like 50 cent, lloyd banks, and whoever else is in G-unit who disrespect woman and only talk about guns..but you can't really blame them because they were brought up like that, I read a biography about 50 cent, and his mom died when he was 8, because she sold drugs, and some guy broke in and set their house on fire, after he put something in her drink to make her pass out..so their pretty much just espressing their feelings too..if you were brought up like that you would understand...

and, please don't argue with me, because this is my opinion..and I understand why some of you don't like rap..but it's kinda rude when people say 'Rap is crap' or 'I don't even know why it's considered music', if you don't like it their has to be a reason why. And if your wondering why I don't like rock, well the answer is--> I do a little bit, I just don't like how it's so depressing, and how they scream alot..and it scares me the way some of the guys dress..and if you want a better reason, well I don't have one..

i like rap, i just dont like to listen to it constantly. i play rap in my car alot. i like rappers or rap groups that dont always talk about things they have or how tough they are (mostly G-Unit). i like to listen ot them too i just get tired of listening to them brag about how big the wheels on their Escalades are and how tough they are. dont get me wrong though, i like rap, just in moderate amounts.

I kind of know what you mean. It does seem like everyone here hates rap. But not everyone, including myself. I definitely listen to rap and hip hop.

And, also, I wouldn't really say that Ne-Yo, Usher, Monica, Mariah Carey, 112, and other singers listed are in the rap genre, since they never really rap.

Ne-Yo has a couple rap songs that arent on his CD..ushers song 'yeah' is considered rap to me..112..I never even listened to any of their songs..I dunno who Monica is, and Mariah carey has a couple rap songs, or she does some songs with rappers...

Although I can tolerate rap, I just can't get into it. No offense. It's just not my music. (I prefer country.)
I believe that everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, and must be respected for it.

Meh, I'll only listen to rap if it has a beat to it. Most rap just sounds like people talking with music in the background. I listen to Eminem sometimes, but that's about it. My favorite type of music is rock/metal, because it has a beat to it and you can actually dance to it. I can't dance to rap music. ^^;

I just hate rap. It's not me if you know what I mean.

I like it, 'cause it gets me hyper. I just ignore the words, since they mostly talk about women just being toys...Not all do, though. And I totaly love it when it isn't about that bad stuff...

The last two just make me laugh and the first one, well Eminem is the only rapper i believe talks about anything close to reality. Plus....I've said it a million times. Rap is not music, due to the plain and simple fact that to be music you need melody.
