can anyone tell me why only aleu looks like balto? none of the other pups really looked like balto and they didn't come in the other color variations. for example, balto's pups should have been able to come in colors ranging from wolf gray to red and brown on one pup. I just found this a little odd.

I didn't understand that either, but that's just the magic of cartoons, I guess.  Either that, or I'll put it scientifically. Jenna could have had the dominant gene, and therefore, more pups ended up looking like her. Only a small fraction of the pups, or Aleu in this case, would end up looking like Balto, since his gene was inferior.

Either way yes, scientifically the red shade may have dominated. Also in the pups, there are 3/4ths husky and 1/4th wolf... So that may have affected it too. And either way they really wanted Aleu's difference visible.

You're right, the focus wasn't really on any of the other pups in WQ so it didn't really make sense if you ask me to have a ton of color difference. And yes if we dive into biology then yeah it would make sense if the red allele for red fur was domanit then you'd see more pups with it, also as you stated since they're more dog then wolf well theres bound to be more red ones then gray ones lol.

Yeah, I agree. It probably is more to do with storyline and plotline and less to do with scientif accuracy.

i think that balto should hav a son that looks like him if he has a daughter that looks like him too.

I agree with the gene thing you guys said, also don't forget that WQ stands for Wolf quest, that's the way the story was planned and why only one pup was the same colour as Balto, it's all about the story with any movie, a good story means a good movie (unless you muck up the animation).

I wish that Balto's pups would have been more diverse reagrding their fur color. But I guess that was the idea anyway.
