It's been up for debate what the name of Flower's girlfriend was for a while. It was generally agreed that it was Bluebelle or Miss Skunk for a long time, but today I made a discovery and have learned that it is neither. On eBay I found a 1957 Exhibitor's Campaign Book for the rerelease of Bambi from that year. There are several interesting photos and materials to read but the most interesting was on the third page. On the section marked "Are Gas Masks Necessary?", they discuss the apprehension the animations had for keeping live skunks at the studio for reference. But they did get two descented skunks named Flower and Petunia. PETUNIA! And for the rest of the book they refer to Flower's girlfriend as Petunia. This is about as concrete an answer as we can get. Of course the WDCC ceramics name her as Miss Skunk so it's still up for debate whether Petunia is her official name. I've attached a photo of the text but if it doesn't work I'll find somewhere to release it and the rest of the campaign book. But until then I hope some of you are just as blown away by this information as me. Long live Flower and Petunia
