This has been bugging me. I quote Boris. "I am living in Nome for a long long time. But I was born in Russia."

I quote Balto later on. "What migratory injury? I've known you my whole life and you've never migrated anywhere."

If Boris has never migrated, how did he get to Alaska? And, when he did come, how could he get there if he's afraid of flying?

It could be that maybe Boris doesn't even remember migrating from Russia to Nome,Alaska.

Boris was already in Alaska when he met Balto (he'd obviously migrated from Russia before), so then he adopted him. So thats why Balto says hes known him his whole life and he's never migrated because he didn't know Boris when he did. Then after that he became scared of heights, maybe something bad happened when he did migrate thats why he ended up in Alaska.

That sounds like a good theory, Loz.

Perhaps, Boris got lost on his first migration flight from Russia and landed in Nome, hoping that maybe someone would find him when spring returned . . . then when no one came, maybe that's when Balto did?

Hmm, would make a good fanfic.
