Post subject: Fangredrake Rare Mount Debate Rages Among WoW Players

Over the past few days, Blizzard has announced several rewards for players who watch World of Warcraft content on Twitch starting November 15. While this pleases most fans, there is a debate raging about the extremely rare Feldrake mount requiring 4 hours of Dragonflight content to be watched while in your underpants and doing a handstand.

The mount is part of the WoW collectible card game, and more specifically of the War of the Ancients expansion released in October 2012. So far, nothing too bad. We recently learned that Blizzard intends to recycle this old content with the sale of several TCG items in China.

What bothers many players is that the mount is extremely rare to the point of being sold for a very high price on eBay. To give you an idea, I offer you below a screenshot where we see two cards sold last October for prices ranging between 1700 € and 2200 €.

If we can easily understand the great moment of loneliness that accompanies buyers when they realize that they could have obtained the mount for free a few days later (because the card itself will remain extremely rare), it goes without saying that the mount will suddenly change from rare to common in the MMORPG.

Tens of thousands of players will indeed open a Twitch channel in order to recover the mount (just do it when you are not in front of your PC and you can mute the sound - not to mention the browser extensions which facilitate the procedure ). As a result, the pleasure of using a rare mount will inevitably disappear among those who managed to obtain a copy.

Why do you want a Gangredrake? To have a certain exclusivity and stand out in game. Players will thus acquire it via Twitch but it will inevitably lose some of its interest (even if, once the offer has passed, it will again become untraceable). For Blizzard, this is a marketing campaign during which the studio will offer good visibility at little cost, while pleasing players who will receive an inaccessible mount for free.

Some owners find it unfortunate that an object becomes "uninteresting" overnight. It must indeed be remembered that the mount was not always so rare and expensive. Several players have obtained it by purchasing a $5 booster. Others bought it for 100,000 to 150,000 in-game wow wotlk gold. Others got it much cheaper when a bug allowed rare mounts to be duplicated (late MoP, early WoD ). These users believe that Blizzard could have done otherwise, by offering a new mount or by offering a promotion like that of WotLK Classic where you had to play a Death Knight to recover the Proto-wyrm frostbrood on Retail.

Part of the community is also wondering what Blizzard intends to do in the future and if the rarest mounts are not destined to be recycled in the long term, in any way. She is therefore afraid of seeing old PvP or Mythic+ mounts one day become a simple Twitch drop.
