Just Rotramel USMC here again.
I just wanted everyone to know that I have been reading some of the posts, (not necessarily here but especially on the fanart) and I think that it would be wise to let you all in on a little secret.

TELLING PEOPLE THEIR ART OR STORIES SUCK IS NOT HELPING THEM IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM!

Now some of the posts that I have read don't mean to come off as overly critical, but they do, due to the lack of an emotion behind them. (It is a forum after all, and we're not talking, so we can't use facial gestures ext. to show we care)
How do we instert a positive emotion into our posts you ask?
I use the emoticons, that's what they are there for right?
Whenever you make a post that may seem overly critical, (Such as responding to a post that presents a question, I.E. "How was this story?"
at he end of your comments, put a smiley or some other poitive emoticon, to let the author (or artist) know that you're trying to help them, and not just picking apart their hard work.
I too am an emerging author, (I say emerging, because even though I have done like six FanFics now, I learn new things everyday)
And it takes a lot of time and effort to even come up with the idea for a story, let alone put pen to paper (or fingersto keyboard lol)
And I know that it takes just as long to do art, heck I've perosnally spent... hours drawing out the idea's for my cover pages, before I get to the computer, and sometimes that can take days.
I look at some of the stuff that Greykitty and Pample produce (and I'm sure there are many more great artists on the site) and I go "whoaa, that would take me years to do." (great job by the way to both of you.)
And then I look at things like poor Shadoes drawing, and though it needs a little work, it's better than what I came up with the first time that I tried. (It didn't even look like Balto, more like a rat lol)
But to keep this on a serious note, some of the posts (on his pic especially) disturbed me greatly.
I mean, are we all not Balto Fans, isn't that why we're here?
Well, I hope the real reason we are here is to meet new people, with interesting cultures and ideas, who also happen to have a love for Balto.
If we are friends, then why, why in the feaking world do I see posts like this " " or this *censored* *censored* or even "That's Horrible!"
All of these Shadoe has probably read, and I hope to God that he didn't take them to heart, because if he stops then it is those peoples fault's (who made those posts) tthat the world has lost a part of it's creativity.
Let's keep our posts positive, and if you're listening Shadoe keep it up!
Don't ever, ever,ever ,ever , EVER (have a made myself clear?) EVER give up! No mater what people say.

I come from the Marine Corps and (don't worry, I know that this is not the Corps) we take care of our own, we watch out for our brothers.
That's what I think of all of you on this post as brothers and sisters, let's try to be kind to our brothers, kay?

I think it would be cool if you could add a comments page to the FanFics.
That way we author's could get some input as well.

Ok, THAT was a constructive post
I follow you on this. I hate when people make comments like this, that's why there is written : "You can make constructive critics, but offensive comments (insults...) are not allowed." But there are still people who don't care. I've seen so many times comments like this made by 3-years old (even if they aren't, they still have no more than 3 years old in mental age), and I'm tired of having to remove them. Soon I'll add the registration of the IP adresses on the fan art comments, as it is already for the shout boxes, so I can ban people who make comments like that if I feel it's necessary.
As I said, I don't care if people are criticizing, as long as they explain WHY they don't like it. But comments like "OMFG that sucks" and so on, are much offensive and not tolerable.
I'm going to make a fan fic comment system, as many people already asked for it...

well said..rotramel is right, comments like that are uncalled for and usually a bit hypocritical..

Yah I've seen some nasty comments twords people that I could never think about writing it's just no polite.

I always try to stick to, "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". Great post Rotramel.

well since almost if not all ,people else read and agreed with that frist post i will also agree with it, i didnt read it becuase im lazy
