How did Balto get on the sledteam? Would the driver let Balto run? Do the dogs run everything?

Uhh, he's the hero of Nome! Of course, any musher would be honored to have Balto run on their team! Maybe the dogs got Balto to come with them to get hitched to the sled and the musher realized that the dogs wanted Balto to lead them against the bush plane.

And in my opinion, it seems the dogs rule all. Besides, the mushers have to trust their team, whether there's a wolfdog in the lead or not. The dogs know and sense things that we humans cannot.

It's wierd that nobody adopt Balto when he is honored to in the team because he's hero.

Well, perhaps the humans thought that he would be best in the home that he had lived in for all his known life. I mean, life in a human's care is much too different than living outside of town on your own, and Balto said that humans prefer to adopt puppies than grown dogs like him (he said this in WQ).

And also, perhaps the whole "part-wolf" thing may be another reason, even though they have "sort of" accepted him into their town.

Why would the musher let the dogs run who is on the team? How did Balto get to the musher anyway? Did the team chase him there? Did he walk up there with the team looking at the musher with big eyes?

Maybe Balto stood in lead position when the musher came to harness his dogs and the team looked at the musher hopefully?

I agree. Perhaps the musher noticed that it was Balto in the lead position (since of course, everyone knows Balto's claim to fame) and he decided to let him lead.

Add some whines from the rest of the team for good measure and you're all set.

Balto has indomnatable popularity. Ie humans accepted him, due to his undying reputatipn of saving the town. He proved he could do it. It also balenced out that (At least not in the movies, I belive) that he was not adopted. People wanted to give him space, because he was part wolf. Balto is able to Balaence out his Dog and wolf halfs. He's a great sled dog, because his dog half is a sled dog breed, and his wolf half adds a lot to that. People also seem to see that he is part wolf, he's an adult, he's lived alone and it should be that way.

Yep. That is exactly what I would have said. lol.
