I was wondering if anyone had mentioned the original plot for Simba's Pride on here . . .

To think, originally Kovu was Scar's son and Kiara (in the original plot was named Shani) fell in love with him!

Then of course, some people got worried about the whole "innnnncccest" thing, so this was changed.

I know there's more to these, so I'll add them.

(Plus it also mentioned something about Zazu falling for a bird named Bindi . . but this idea was scrapped because the designers had a hard time making the right design for her . . .)

If the Bindi thing had been done, I wonder if it would have been anything like Boris and Stella. I wonder what the story with Bindi would have been like.

Probably it would . . . and that would be annoying. But I like Zazu . . . and it would be nice for him to, at last, be happy with someone.

Yes, those are all original ideas that were soon rejected/changed in TLK2.

I, too, am glad Simba didn't die. That would have messed up everything and then who would be the leader? Kiara or Nala? (My guess would be Nala, since she is the queen. Kiara wouldn't be ready for the throne yet. She's still too immature and too busy with her new relationship to rule an entire kingdom.)

And a blooper: Zira originally committed suicide in the river scene on the cliffs. She let go of the rock and smiled. Then this was changed to her slipping and falling to her death (because suicide sets a bad example for kids - Thank you, Disney.).

Yeah, Kiara still has a lot to learn about ruling a kingdom (ah, one of the many roles of being a princess . . . at least there aren't any Disney Princess products with Kiara in them . . . even though she truly is a princess). But now that she has Kovu, would she be less powerful as a ruler (because it seems that females are not as important with the "ruling" of the kingdom; that all seems to be the king's (male's) job)?


But also, IMO the whole suicide thing shows that Zira would do anything for what she believed in, even kill herself. She didn't want to give in to Kiara's kindness, or join Simba's pride like the rest of her pride.

Even Zira's daughter,Vitani wanted to join Simba's Pride.

Of course. She listened to what Kiara had to say, and realized that she made sense. She even had to defy her mother, which probably took a lot of courage on her behalf.

I'm Glad they didn't put the girl bird in. LK2 is a great sequal, it would have ruined it like Stella ruine Balto 3.

Yeah. I would boycott TLK if they had killed Simba...
