Any idea who this is?
Ok, if you can’t guess who this is, it is the fault of one (or more) of 3 things: a) it’s your fault for not watching a wide enough variety of tv, b) the fact that this is from before our generation, or c) it’s my fault for drawing such a crappy sketch. (most likely it’s c) anyways- yeah, this isn’t my best work, I wasn’t real careful with lining stuff up correctly, and I could point out a dozen+ things wrong with it (starting with the eyes, yikes), but hey, it was my first time sketching the guy. My dad was able to guess right away who it was, so I guess it looks sort of like it’s supposed to… as for how long it took me to sketch it, I really have no idea. I did the whole thing during the course of 1 art class (a period of about 50 minutes), but that doesn’t count the time the teacher was talking, or I was talking to my friends, or studying my photo ref, or erasing, or agonizing over the fact that this thing wasn’t turning out quite right, etc. this pic was some concept art for a spin-off comic strip I was doing for art class. I’m entertaining the thought of drawing a new pic of him this summer, a nicer one that I spend (way) more time on. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m not gonna tell you who this is supposed to be. You get to guess! But, to make it a bit more fun, I’m gonna make this into a little mini-contest. Be the first person to correctly identify this character (if you know it, include the actor’s name) AND the show he was in. I will sketch (not color, sorry, due to a lack of free time) the character of the first person to guess correctly, and only the first person, for obvious reasons. So, basically, be the first to tell me who this is and what show he was in. Tip: imagine him giving you a bug-eyed look- that should help, lol.
Ah, yes, and as usual, constructive criticism is welcome, though it may be something I already know (post it anyway).
Good luck, and thanks to all those who decide to participate!
(oh, and I was going to say who the character is © to, but, since someone could just google that and get the answer, I’ll post that after there’s a winner)

Bush? Joking! JOKING!
But, I hope nobody gets this right, because that'd more than likely mean they don't watch hours and hours of t.v. Plus, I don't have cable, dish, anything...^^And I'm glad, actually... By the way, you did an awsome job! ^^

ding ding ding, we have a winner! i'm amazed someone got it so quickly, cause my sketch isn't that great, and as i've found out from talking to people at school, almost no one has heard of lost in space. it's one of my favorite shows^^. post or pm me a descirption of your character, and i'll get started sketching him
@suka- i looked up ian mckellen last night, and could've kicked myself when i found out he played gandalf. i shoulda known that!
@blackwolfwsp-i don't know when the last time lost in space was on tv, but it aired in the 60's. the only reason i've seen it is beacause my neighbor lent my family the first 2 (there are 3 in all) seasons on dvd. if you can rent or borrow them somewhere, i suggest watching them. if one thinks about it, the show really is kinda lame, but i love it! the best characters are the "nefarious" dr. smith, will robinson, and the robot (the robot develops a hilarious personality). oh, and i don't have cable or dish either. i don't watch a lot of tv compared to the average american, but it is true that i watch more than i used to, lol.
oh, yes-> dr. smith and all lost in space characters are (C) irwin allen. i haven't seen the 1998 movie yet, but i doubt i 'll like it half as much as the show. you just can't replace jonathan harris as smith. and this converstion should probably move to the film/ series area, so i may start a lost in space topic there.^^ thanks to all
oh, and dustyfanatic- does my location sound familliar...?

ok, so she's a lioness (just getting it straight), and did you want a name w/ it, or just "dusty fanatic"?

i gotcha! i can do sarabi for ya- it'll just take a bit, due to the fact that i've never drawn sarabi before (i'm lookin' forward to it, though) and that i have a bunch of work to do at the moment. yeah, i though i was done w/ work for a while and then more just popped up! i'll put sarabi @ the top of my "to draw" list !
@ argetlam- thank you very much!
