I love animated movie soundtracks, so I thought I'd give everyone the chance to vote theirs. In my opinion The Lion King is probably the best animated movie soundtrack ever, by Elton John and Tim Rice, because I think they are two of the best composers of all time. :D Add in comments or votes as you please. Plus I will display what I think are the worst animated soundtracks ever!
*BEST*
- The Lion King (songs like I Just Can't Wait To Be King, Can You Feel The Love Tonight and music such as To Die For and This Land)
- Balto 1 (the opening music for Balto and Reach For The Light)
- Lady & the Tramp (ohhh this is the night! :) i love that song myself)
- Aladdin 1 (i think only the original Aladdin has the best music, of course the best song being A Whole New World. I don't really like the songs to the Aladdin sequels.)
- The Last Unicorn (for a small, rather unknown movie, this soundtrack is very beautiful. I've always been a fan of it.)
- Snow White (i love songs like Whistle While You Work and Some Day My Prince Will Come. Very nice.)
- The Swan Princess (lovely songs, like Far Longer Than Forever, and fun, upbeat songs like Practice, Practice, Practice)
- Anastasia (beautiful lyrics and music. only the St. Petersberg song annoys me because it gets stuck in my head all day!)
*WORST*
- Fox & The Hound (I really don't like the songs in this, that fox really gets on my nerves)
- Balto 2 (I don't hate this soundtrack, it just bothers me, because the songs in Balto 1 are so nice, and these ones annoy me, exempt Taking You Home)
- The Little Mermaid 2 (mainly this is because I hate Melody! grr! and the songs in the first The Little Mermaid were cute, so they ruined it)
- Lady & the Tramp 2 (mainly Scamp's song bothers me. i just don't like it.)
- Pocahontas 2 (this soundtrack was completely ruined. It had potential to be good, but somewhere, somehow, they ruined it.)
I love a lot of animated movies, but some do bother me, as not all movies are perfect. Show your opinion on the poll.
Some song lyric quotes:
"Reach for the light, to capture a star,"
- Reach For The Light
"We've an unshakable bond..destined to last for a lifetime and beyond,"
- Far Longer Than Forever
"Time, it will fly, like the sun through the sky, and what was once hello will turn to goodbye,"
- Taking You Home
"The world for once in perfect harmony, with all its living things,"
- Can You Feel The Love Tonight

Balto. Definitely.
I've always been a fan of James Horner's soundtrack for Balto. And I've always said it was one of the best thing (if not THE best thing) in Balto.
I wouldn't even compare the B1 soundtrack with any other...it's just the best soundtrack for an animated movie that I've ever heard IMO. I have never heard any other soundtrack that got even close to most of the soundtracks for Balto. It has everything in it...adventure, love, feelings, danger, etc etc... And it sticks perfectly to the film.
A close soundtrack would be...Titanic. Guess why I also really like the American Tail soundtracks (especially the first one).
The Balto 3 soundtrack is good, even really good for an animated sequel. But it's more common, and there are a bit too much empty scenes.

For balto movies, without any doubt!, the soundtrack of Balto 3 is the best of all.
It have just 3 songs, but all of them great.
I also like reach for the lignt from balto 1, but unfortunatedly the movie just have this song...
In some country have discs of the soundtrack of baltos? I was really thinking in buy that cd (here in brazil don´t have any)
For another movies I Really apreciate the Lion King songs... i truth im a fan of the Lion King movies, here is a pic of my room with some poster of the movie:
There is also anothers lion king movies posters in another walls of my room
But backing for the soundtracks subject, another track that for me is very good and touching is the track of Spirit the stalion of the cimarron, bryan adams done a great job singing the songs.

I'm surprised that 3 people voted for WoC against 4 for the original Balto As I said, even if the WoC one is good for a DTV, I don't believe it's at the same level...

Yes, a CD with all the soundtracks from the film was released; if you've never heard the musics from this CD, that may be the reason you think the B3 soundtrack is better Look at the "Multimedia" page in the "Balto 1" section on my site for more info.

No idea...In fact I don't have it myself, I can't find it in any french stores (online or not). It's like every Balto merchandise, they didn't produce them since the release of the original Balto, so it's hardly findable. I think the best way to find it is Ebay, but it's rather expensive...

Yes; but knowing Universal's interest for Balto, you can wait a VERY long time....
