Ehm, I didn't know where post this topic because it's about all the three Balto films. If a Mod think it should be in a different section, he can move it.

Well, I know I always talk about languages, but I find them a very interesting topic. After I've seen Balto 2 and Balto 3 in Italian and in English, I found that in the Italian version there are more quotes than in the English one (we Italian people always speak alot, lol). Here some examples:
From Balto 2:
- When Jenna visit Balto with the pups, Aleu speaks. In the scene where Balto has the pups on himself, in the English version Aleu barks, whereas in Italian one she says: "Come on, guys, catch me!"
- When Balto "saves" Boris from Aleu, in Italian version Balto says "Uncle Boris isn't a toy" and Boris answers "Lucly you said to her".
From Balto 3:
- When Balto sees the bushplane in Nome, in the English version he says "My God, it's here". In the Italian version, after he said "Saint sky, it's here", when he are running towards it, he says also "It's a dream".
- When Kirby wants to be the boss of the sled, in the Italian version he doesn't say only "You can rely upon me", but even "I'll lead you". (and this while he's closing his mouth, lol)
- When Boris is leaving Stella, thank to the arrival of Balto, in the Italian version he doesn't say only "Goodbye, Stella" but even (to Balto) "Don't stay still, you".

So I wanted to know if in other versions, there are other differences.

Yes of course, I've noticed many differences in the french translation. The biggest ones are in Balto 3, where I've noticed that nearly half of the expressions (yes, half...) are entirely different from the english. It would be too long to list, but there are many differences...

Most of the time, they just remove something, which is less interesting than when they add something. For example, Jenna never say "Dingo" in the french version of Wolf Quest. I think this is due to the fact this is a strange name when said in french. And it's also the french name for "Goofy" - the Disney character. She also never say "Kodiak" in Balto 3.

Wow, in the Italian version they add only. The only thing is that Aniu in Italian is pronanced in an other way.

LOL! In Finnish version there was a lot of talking took out. In those ones they doesn't even speak a lot...only make some words when they have to...so I think their just lazy in Finnish one...(like always Finnish ones are really Lazy ones)

Sorry I have no examples in it...but I'm sure that they have left few words out...lol...

In B1 names were weird ones at least for Star...he was Välkky that means a bit like "Genius" and so on...lol cant understand why...but oh well...

In B3 Dusty's name wasn't dusty
her name was Tassu=Paw lol! made me feel not so good because of that...ain't perfect fit...

Actually I AM Italian, lol

An other different about Balto 2, when Nava come out the tree in the English version Aleu asks him "How did you do that?" and Nava: "I simply became one with the plant" and says an other thing I don't understand. In the Italian one, after he says the first sentence, Balto says "If I had tried, now I'd have been covered by chips".

Well he also says that in the french version, are you sure this sentence wasn't in the original version?

Also, one interesting thing is that Aleu in french is pronounced the same way as in english (and not how it is supposed to be pronounced). So Aleu is pronounced the same way as "A-Loup", and Loup means wolf...

Yes, I've re-watch the scene and in the English version Balto doesn't speak, but Nava says more things. About Aleu, in Italian is pronunced "Alù" but it's so close to the English version that I've never noticed that (and Aleu is very close to the way to howl of the wolfes). The very difference about the name is Aniu. In English is pronunced like "Anaiu".

In German she is called ,,Anaju''.

I saw Balto 1-4 in English, Dutch, French (and German of course)

In the first path say Mek: ,,I see something what you not see and it starts with an ,s' ''

But in French starts Snow (Schnee) of course not with S ??!!

In the second part say Balto to Boris in German ,,Sie ist ein gutes Hundchen'' (She's a god dog) and Boris answered: ,,Gut schon! Aber kein Hundchen!" (God yes, but no dog!) and in English ,,She's a god pup'' and Boris:
,,God? Yes! Pup? No!"

It's not the same meaning...

the scene the Boris whisper to Jenna
in English :
Boris : he's a wolf on a mission.

in Thai :
Boris : the raven was a wolf who transform into a raven!

it's not the same meanings! not even close!!! hey! there's anoter one!

the scene Muru was about to sing to Alue and Alue asked :what are you doing?"
in Enlish :
Muru : I'm shining light into the darkness.

in Thai :
Muru : I'm the shining light in the darkness.

I think this one was a mistake while listening. so I'm not really surprised.

They're kinda strange in my oppnion...
I'm sorry to say that it DON'T exists in romanian language version, only translations as subtitles(yes on Balto1 and 2 and 3)..Sad I say tha Romanians are toooo lzay to translate in language.. :x

As far as i have in many languages balto..the Balto1 and 2 DVD has English and Croatish languages, never tested the Croatish, but I will make a short clip and show you.

Anyways I do have on a Cd brought by my dad Balto1..in Hungarian, and yes I know the language
I think that you rember when after the race,Steele tryes to tease Balto,to not became a member of the sled dog team, and he says :"And when I'll get back I'll fulled you ( or pull you,I didn't understood it very well)in 5 ways and leave you for a cat toy!"..In Hungarian says :"When I'll be back I'll make you into pieces, you unfaced, unshamed half breed!!"

I'll get more info,I'll see.
