I was looking through fan arts the other day, and I knoticed that some of the drawings aren't so good, but when they get colored they look soooo good. and I wondered what do you think is acctually better.
A good drawing with no color, (computer color) or an ok drawing with good computer coloring?
I think that the put effort into it is better because art isn't just a nice colored picture.

Well i'd have to say a sketch that looked good in the first place since you can't really draw anything if your sketching/drawing foundation is not strong.

I voted other. The begining drawing needs to look good, and sometimes I prefer a good BW drawing more than a digital painting.

the drawing itself needs to be well-done w/ lots of effort put into it. however, i'm not against fixing up one of my own not-too-hot drawings by coloring it on computer. it can change something that you hated looking at into something you really love. but that's rare, at least for me. so, i've got to say the original drawing. i do tend to color a lot of my meant-for-the web pics, because my scanned pencil-drawings don't look to good on a computer screen, most of the time. i try to avoid inking a lot of my pencil pics, because then i lose a lot of pencil lines that, while not important to the picture itself, i like. that's why i'm always on the look out for new ways to darken my lineart for computer usage.

I pushed the wrong vote button My opinion is that comp art and hand drawn art both have their downsides, but that sometimes they are both good

Just because the computer drawings are good doesn't mean anything. I think an artist should be better at hand drawing than computer, which, im way better at sketching than cartooning and computer XD but maybe that's just me XD XP XO

Same here. I can't handle the pressure of drawing with the mouse unless I REALLY consentrate

Well the computer coloured pics do look really good but I prefer the hand drawn/coloured pics, I hand draw/colour all of my pics and I think all the hard work and effort really adds to the pics but I'm not saying I don't like the computer pics, I love all the fan-art on this site even if it's not the best drawing I've ever seen the artist that created the pic took all the time and effort to make it look as good as they could and I really like that, computer done or not.

Well,both
Because free hand ones are very good for realistic furs,in my oppinion. And I sometimes mess up! XD(the fur turns out very good).
But less or more, digital is way easier and time saving using effects digitally then manually, manually is hard, with earaser doing light parts, then add more tnner to be more darker for shadows.
Oh yes I love in freehand,at least I can respect the shadows! For round body to NOT make the shadow on the line..only on sharped ones,oh nevermind....
And I like both.
