Just coming back from the movies, watched Hostiles, which aired a bit later here in France
Through this thread, I just wanted to know your feelings about the movie for those who watched it. How you percieved the cultural and historical references, their accuracy, the relationships between the characters and so and so.
On my level, I felt it was a wonderful flick and a wonderful message for both native and non-native communities. Being put in the center of such events through the movie without being manichean, without giving any judgment was a real feat of strength by Scott Cooper.
Also, telling a story about forgiveness, acceptance and respect between ethnies during those times of war, nearly calling it a genocide as it should be called, is really brave. I just was touched by it, even if this part of history doesn't belong to my culture nor my country's history.
Compared to other movies depicting native on screen (the last one I've seen being Wind River), it was so humble yet so accurate.
Just wonderful I hope you loved it as much as I did.
