So, I gotta know, is there anyone else out there who likes jazz besides me and is really into it.

As for me, I like pretty much all jazz, with a few exceptions. One of those being "smooth jazz", I just can't stand it. First off, way to many saxes, just way to many. Second, it really isn't that great of music, and I just don't really consider it good jazz.

In perticular I really like the two masters of Bepop, Dizzy Gilliespie and Charlie Parker, though my obsession tends to focus around Dizzy. Then I also love Dizzy's heir, Arturo Sandoval (I saw him in concert, that was awsome). But over all I like them all, Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk. I'm also have a love for Miles Davis (his birth of the cool was the first jazz CD I ever owned, my brother got it for me)

Right now I'm really like two modern artists, Micheal Brecker (tenor) and Chris Botti (trumpet). In fact 3 days ago I saw Chris Botti in concert and it was awsome.

So, for you jazz fans out there, who do you like?

Yes, and somehow it seems that Jazz is now becoming popular for the "younger scene". Have you noticed all the younger Jazz musicians lately? (also, to answer your question, I love some Jazz music. What would you exspect, I live in Louisiana! )

I play the saxophone and the violin.

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Replies, I love you all, THANKYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I"m good now, just so thrilled to get replies finaly, and yeah, jazz is getting to be in the younger scene more, though at the professional level it is still older people.

So Bridger, I'm assuming you do jazz sax and classical violin right, though if you so jazz violin, that makes you all the more cooler in my book, not that I have anything against classical violin, but still, if you do jazz violin you just plain rock.

I'm sorta am >^_^<
