We've heard time and time again that there isn't going to be a Balto 4 because the third film wasn't popular enough to keep the series going. And now, eighteen years later, the Balto franchise is slowly becoming forgotten, and there's probably tons of kids out there who don't even know who Balto is.
But what if Balto was brought back with a TV series?
Sort of in the way Spirit was. They brought it back with a Netflix series after not expanding on the franchise for years, and now the franchise is well-known again amongst kids.
What if they made a series about Balto this time around? It would have to be executed a bit differently than the Spirit show was (ie NO humans) but I bet if they put a Balto TV show on Netflix or something, a lot of kids enjoy it. Kids love dogs, and I'm sure they'd love 20-minute episodes of Balto and co. going on all different adventures on the Alaskan frontier.
At this point in time, making a Balto Tv series would make a lot more sense than making a fourth movie. Plus, it would be a great way to bring the Balto fandom back to life!
What do you guys think? Also, what would you guys like to see if they actually did come out with a Balto show?
