This one's off topic, all right. Some months ago we were watching a movie about a black soldier in Asia, probably during WWII. He falls in love with a beautiful Asian girl, but her mother or grandmother harshly urges her to take revenge for a killing apparently committed by his unit. It turns out that she's really some kind of demon, with hair snaking out of her nose. He sensibly flees, but how does it end? I wonder if that was Denzel Washington. Yes, I've tried What's My Movie.

Ocnbrze, that's it! Thanks for finding it...it's a tv show and not a movie. I assume the "Lovecraft" refers to H. P., the horror author. I guess mikedt must have posted an answer in the wrong spot.
