Im surprised no one has started a topic on these books yet.
Ive read 'The Two Towers' and part of 'Return of the King' but the fellowship of the ring takes awhile to get into for me. The first few chapters are about Fodo getting the ring and traveiling to the Prancing Pony to meet up with Gandalf and thats all the way till 146.
Only when Frodo gets stabbed by the nasgoul does the book get interesting.

ACK! I have too short of an attention span to read these! Besides, I'm a bit caught up with other things besides reading, it's not really my thing (although I AM reading the Harry Potter series on and off over the months!)

Its is spelled "Nazgûl" "Nazg" means "ring", and "guul" (shortform gûl) means ghost.

I have read the books some month ago the last time.

I like the all three books. I can't say which one is the best for me.
One thing i like are those many languages. Kuzdûl, Sindarin, Quenya, Black Speech, ...

The books are just great.

I love these books, and the movies were cool too.

Lord of rings must be my fav fantasy book,because i also like original epics,i must say the auther was really brilliant!

I love LOTR! I started reading the books not long ago, I only have about 3 or 4 chapters left in FOTR.

I don't think I've ever read the books, but I HAVE seen the movies. My dad, sister, and my fav part is in either 2nd or 3rd movie (whichever one has the walking and talking trees) when the water comes gushing through where the eye in wizard form lives and the tree's stick their head in it to put out the fire on their braches.

if you have no idea what I'm talking about, it's ok, I'm used to it.
