 Post subject: How do I read another person's messages?

I need to find out with whom one person is constantly texting. He does this in WhatsApp, can I somehow remotely view his correspondence? Are there such applications and are they legal, after all, this is an introduction into the personal space of another person, but I am very interested with whom he is texting.
