Okay, I finally decided to buy the DVD versions of Balto and WQ (now completing my Balto DVD collection! w00t.), and I watched the ending of WQ again (because the better parts of the movie are in the last 20 minutes or so IMO). And that's when I got to thinking . . . .

If Aniu is Balto's mother, is there a chance that maybe she could be Nava's as well? Hmm . . . . .

I mean, think about it: Nava looks like a tan version of Aniu (he does to me anyway), and both Balto and Nava have a connection with her spiritually (mainly through the whole dream thing). Plus, Nava did call Balto "brother" when the two of them went their separate ways in the last two minutes of the film (Yeah, he could have meant it in a different way than that, but it could happen, right?). Unfortunately, it is never mentioned by Nava on who his parents are, but his connection with Aniu (revealed to be Balto's mother in the final minute of WQ) makes this questionable . . . .

Just a thought . . . . what do you guys think?

WOW awesome thought...I would never have thought of that...well I don't know Nava kinda seems like he really isn't a wolf at times like when he puts himself into the tree at all it kinda looks impossible....for a living wolf to do so. But that is true it is weird how Nava has that connection towards Balto and Aniu and how he trusted Balto to lead the pack across the icy waters and all like he knew that Balto would do a good job. Well, about the brother thing a lot of people and creatures do that like when a friend comes up to you and says how's my bro doing today or What's up my brother...it just means somtimes a close bond. But still awesome thinking I never thought of that before....

well it is an interesting thought but i really don't think balto and nava are related i think the only reason nava and aniu knew each was because of balto's dreams or maybe they were friends

Well the going inside the tree thing was a bit like something Aniu might do... Maybe... You never know. ^^

I think that it's highly unlikely, but it's still possible.

i honestly think the only reason he was only able to go into the tree was that he was really just a dead spirit

... I doubt Nava is dead. He might be. But. I don't think so. Wolves don't normally follow a dead guy around. -_- But you never know...

I'm not sure..he seems a little old to be Balto's brother, but you never know. What would be more sensible is him being Balto's father, except Balto's father was a husky, so I would go with the brother story.
