Wow, now that's a surprise! This morning I received an email from Phil Weinstein, director of Balto 2 & 3! Here's what it says :

I wanted to thank everyone for their continued support of the Balto
franchise. I enjoy checking in occasionally to read the various posts. I
wish I could give you news on a Balto 4, but I have not heard any plans
as of yet. I also wanted to let everyone know that this summer I will
be directing a low budget family film titled "Penny's Wish." You can
follow the production via our weekly podcasts at http://www.projectnolight.com.
Again, thanks so much for keeping the spirit of Balto going! I hope to
return to Universal someday to continue the franchise!

I suppose this is not a fake, the email address seems pretty true and his name is on the site he quoted.
Now, what does this mean?

- NO BALTO 4...If the director himself knows something, I suppose this is still not in project...At least, now we're sure of this.

- He visits Balto Source regularly! I'm soooo happy about this!

I'm a bit busy right now, but I'll think more about this today...
I would ask you not to email him though, it wouldn't be a good thing to overload his email box.

Awwww no news of a Balto 4... Well atleast we are sure that nothings in project for Balto 4 yet. But wow he visits this site, that's great! I don't support all the sequel stuff... But a 4th Balto is very much needed to wrap up Balto 2 & 3. Anyways... hopefully... In time this will all improve.

Good luck on Penny's Wish, but there are many movies like that, same theme. Well hopefully this one will be better than the rest.

No Balto 4?,I've got no problem with that,3 Baltos is enough for all of us.

Shame that there isn't gonna be a Balto 4 but at least we did get a reply and that they know about this site!!

But don't you think it was sort of "cut-end"? If they did make the sequels, which they did, they should have something that wraps them to something called "The End", it feels like cut-off 2nd and then 3rd... But the rest?

yup...i would really like to see the last sequel..it will be enough 4 baltos... but deep in my heart a weak sound says "this is not over!"...

No, he's not part of Universal, so I guess not. But maybe it could have lead him to finally send an email.

I'm beginning to think that Balto 3 may have not sold as much as they expected. But maybe they're just waiting some time before making a new sequel, or maybe this is a consequence of the changes they've made since one year...

Congratulations steetboris on making such a wonderfully informative website and good place for the community to gather and this is a big reward for all your hard work here to be contacted by one of the production staff.

Thank you Phil for the information and taking the time to contact fans. Not many production staff do that (mostly because of time constraints). So I have great respect for anyone that goes to the trouble of directly talking to their loyal audience.
I look forward to seeing what else might be in Balto's future once the opportunity is there.
