If you are looking for an easy read, and you like cats(and even if you are a dog/wolf person) I would suggest the Warriors series, by Erin Hunt.
Longer reads:
Redwall and other books by Brian Jacques
The Sight and the Firebringer by David Clement-Davies
The Lord of the Rings Tilogy, by J.R.R Tolkein
I will add to this list if you would like me to, I have others, but I don't want to overload you

I would suggest Julie of the Wolve sif someone else already hasn't. Now it's a trilogy. Also, "the good dog" is a good book. SBD told me about it.

I suggest the "farseer trilogy" 'assassin's apprentice','Royal Assassin','Assassin's Quest' by Robin Hobb. Its about a ******* child of a prince who can use this forbidden magic called the WIT to bond with animals. The father ends up giving up his claim to the thrown and is killed in his exile, so his son never grows up knowing him. His father's two brothers are also princes and are in line for the thrown. He ends up being raised by his father's caretaker, Burrich, a gruff stableman. His grandfather, the currect king, ends up taking the young 'Fitz' into being trained by the Royal Assassin, the King's half brother. The youngest of the lad's uncles, "prince regal' sees him as athreat to the thrown even though he is but a mere *******, and is in constant struggle wit him throughout.
His family blood line of the farseers can use this magic called the SKILL. This magic allows the user to influence others by planting thoughts in their heads, able to see through another's eyes, even drain the person they are connected to.
Concerning his ability with the wit if not careful, the user of the WIT develops the personalities of the animals they're bonded to, and vice versa. The second and third book he bonds to a wolf, lookie here its the REAL Nighteyes. This is where I got my name from. I tell ya, this author made this wolf come alive in a nonhuman human character. If you love fantasy set in a sort of european similar setting, this is it.
This is one hell of a good read if you can stand First person. This series is worthwhile just for Nighteyes, the wolf. He plays a huge role in the second and third books. The bond they share, their relationship, really goes deep. They are able to communicate with each other via thoughts, becuase of their bond. and he is able to share his wolf's senses, which vamp up his own.
Its a sad tale nonetheless. Nothing good ever happens for Poor fitz. always getting shafted, the unfortunate unwelcomed hero. Just read it...it is worth it.

Forgive my horrible summaries, but here are a few books that I've enjoyed.
A good fantasy book (if you can find it) is "The Blue Sword" by Robin McKinley. It's about a girl who is whisked away into the desert by the king of those who live in the hills. It has good fight bits and flows very well. It's an older book but it's still good.
Another good series (also fantasy) is the Belgariad by David Eddings. It's about a boy who, though he doesn't know it, is destined to become one of the most powerful sorcerers in the world. Can't remember the exact number of books in the series, but I think it's about 5, excluding those that focus on other characters.
Also a good read (yet again fantasy) is the series by Lloyd Alexander. There are five books and here they are listed in order:
-The Book of Three
-The Black Cauldron
-The Castle of Lyrr
-Taran Wanderer
-The High King
You may have heard of it from the Disney movie, and I can say that the movie doesn't do the series justice. It's about a boy who doesn't have anything who ends up saving the world pretty much.
Again, I'm horrible at writing summaries, so you might want to look into these series yourself to get a feel for them. I hope I helped some.

I would suggest A Wrinkle In Time. It has some fantasy, adventure, and logic in it. I found it to be my fav book for a while
