Personally, I like him best in the original one. However, some of things he does in Wings Of Change are cute. I especially like it when he is talking to Boris about his 'flying issues' in the boat wreck, when he rolls over onto his back. He looks sweet there.

How about you?

The first because this is where he really shines. Afterall he is the focus. The other two films his children are the focus (Aleu and Kodi) or his companions. Although of course he plays a big part in each, its not the same as when he struggles against everything to become a hero. Also that brings up another point... in the first movie he had to try really hard to get people to believe in him, the other two movies its a given he is a hero. So in the first film you find yourself sympathising with him that much more because everyone is against him or wary of him apart from his 3 friends, so the attachment is stronger.
But he is great in all of them because he is such a good person and always proves to be strong willed. And his support of his family is nice and yes there are many cute moments.
But the first movie had a lot of impact.

Balto had the most suspense and balto shone and actully became a hero so that's what is really good about balto in B1.

I like the original Balto the best. He's got a wildness that wasn't really there in the sequels. You could tell that even though he wanted to be accepted by the townspeople and other dogs, he lived life the way he wanted and blazed his own trail. In WQ and WOC, he seemed, for lack of a better word, too tame. But maybe thats just from being named "Hero of Nome". :P

That's a good point. In the first film, it was almost as if he was stepping along the very edge of the border between the wilderness and the village (and with them being so close to each other due to the village being pretty small, it made it all the easier). Like the scene where he sees the wolf family. It was if he could at that moment choose to go with the wolves since nothing major was tieing him down (until him and Jenna finally settled down together). And that gave him an edge. But in the following films, you know that the townspeople respect him, that Jenna and other parts of his family are in the town and everything else. So its sort of a given he would return to the town.

But of course as said, he's great in all the films. Its just he was pretty intriguing with the dilemma he had originally and had a little bit of unpredictability.

I liked him in the origenal one the best, in the second one they made him too... wimpy or something. He was too motherly instead of fatherish. He improved on the third movie, but he was in his best in the first one.

the first one is just better. the sequels...they were ok, but they seemed to make fun of the original. the second one, especially. with all the magic and prophecies, i thought i was watching a Harry Potter movie  that could have been left out, because there was nothing magical about running away from home and living with a pack of wolves. the third was better, but still not as good as the original. the first one defiantely has my vote.

The First one is the best one. The sequels didnt have as good animation etc. And I didnt like the magic in second one, as Kari said, it was a bit like watching a Harry Potter movie.

In the first movie, Balto was the main character and his wolf herritage was more obvious. If you never seen Balto 1 and went straight on and watched the second or the third, you'd think he was just a stray grey dog - Not including the scene in B2 when Aleu is told of her herritage, of course. Be_happy.gif He had a sort of wilderness to him.
Anyway, he was OK in the sequels. But Universal, if they do make a Balto 4, should try and create a slight wilderness to him again.
