Has anyone seen Moana?

I did and I thought it was pretty good. I must admit I was worried at first because of all the songs. It reminded me of Frozen (and I didn't like Frozen).

I was really stunned by the backgrounds, the water though some of the characters looked a bit too much like plastic dolls. I really enjoyed the humour and the story.

Yesss I really liked Moana. It's not a new favorite, but I did like it and I look forward to watching it again in the future.

The only problem I had with it was the unoriginal storyline. It's the typical Disney recipe of: princess with animal companions who dreams of going out and doing a thing, has family who wants to hold her back because of some tragic event, sets out to do the thing anyway, meets new supporting characters who will help her achieve the thing, faces a sad moment, then achieves the thing and Happily Ever After. No point of calling anything a spoiler when there's no surprise, haha.

Aside from that, I did enjoy everything else- enough for me to have enjoyed the film overall. I really liked the music (though a little oddly placed sometimes), the colors are so vibrant and gorgeous, the design and animation is beautiful, props to an original location choice of Polynesia, and I did enjoy the characters.

Also, can we all appreciate that crab. Just.. that entire scene in general. That was the biggest WTF moment and I enjoyed every second of it. Crab dude is definitely my favorite, and I love jamming out to Shiny; it's just so catchy.

The crab "wtf moment" was awesome though some people felt if was out of place in the movie. I think it fits well and is both funny and scary at the same time. The song is indeed catchy.

The story may not be original, but it absolutely works on me. And I absolutely adore a movie that subverts violence in the end.
