Come one, come all my dear Animation Source users, because we welcome you to participate in the 2017 Valentines Surprise project!
In a similar fashion to the Secret Santa project, this is a surprise exchange project. You will work on a fan creation (fan art, fan image, fanfic, fan videos) which features the character of your choice paired with another character chosen by another user. The gift you'll be receiving will be secret, and you won't find out who did your gift until Valentines Day on February 14! We even allow characters in your submission to be LGBT couples!
Below are the rules and how to register:
Dates: From January 10 to January 17: Signup dates.
January 17: Signup deadline.
January 19: PMs are sent to participants with assigned character.
From January 20 to February 11: Creation and sending of submissions.
February 11: Submission deadline.
February 14: Submissions to be featured in news.
Any creations sent between 12 and 14 February will be considered as late.

Note: Preference "bi" is for people who do not mind which character of gender they'll receive.
Note²: Although asked to choose a male and female character to another player, only one of them will be represented by straight or gay preference chosen by the participant.

January 17 in order to participate in the project.
Sites and characters:You can choose official characters that are featured on Animation Source sites, even from the exclusive French-side sites! Each choice must be from a different movie/TV series. Franchises with characters chosen are in bold. While you can still choose a character from any listed series, it would be ideal to pick an unchosen franchise to spice up the variety.

- User 1 chooses Aleu as his/her character, and chooses Dodger and Judy Hopps as character for his/her incoming gift.
- User 2 chooses Simba as his/her character, and chooses Charlie and Angel as character for his/her incoming gift.
- User 1’s creation will be Aleu with either Charlie or Angel (depending on assigned preference)
- User 2’s creation will be Simba with either Dodger or Judy Hopps (depending on assigned preference)
Submitting your work:When you’ve completed your creation, you can submit it to the Animation Source site(s) of concern (state in the description that it's for the project), or you can send it via PM to Barrow, Nakou, or a global moderator on the English side. Submissions must be in by
February 11.
Please ensure that your submission complies with Animation Source’s fanart rules.
Any signs of violent, sexual, offensive, or plagiarised content is strictly forbidden.
Agreement and right to dismiss:By signing up, you must agree to commit to your contribution so you don’t cause delays or let down the other members. Don't leave your work to the last minute!
WARNING: Any participants who fail to submit their entry before the deadline will be punished!
- If your creation is sent after the deadline date of receptions and before the news is written, you will be considered late, and will be required to make an additional submission. If the pledge is not made before the next surprise project, you will not be able participate in the next surprise project.
- If you fail to submit any creations at all, you will be prohibited from participating in any future projects until you provide your missing part.
