Wait a minute!

I'm not confirming this yet. Yes; at least one of Jayelle Anderson's sketches was retweeted to Arron Sparrow, but reading Anderson's tweet; I didn't see any confirmation of this being connected to a TaleSpin comic even though she is a comic book writer. When someone says "Because reasons"; it usually means "no reason". There is no official confirmation from Joe's Books on this (although Joe's Books rarely updates itself); it's just comments made by a few comic book writers who are close to the Darkwing Duck comic book; which they claim is back on the table after being put on hold earlier this year.

That being said; as I mentioned before on Livejournal, TaleSpin comics were under consideration for almost two years now and it's not out of the question that a comic book series could be in development. All I am saying is that nothing has been officially confirmed yet by Disney and Joe's Books. I'm more concerned with the real Tim Van Hal's upcoming book, which was supposed to be released by now, than the speculation of a TaleSpin comic at this point.

LOL! Oh, this sure did make me giggle. I came over here to start posting my fan art, to see me being gossiped about as the potential artist for TaleSpin on a Disney Afternoon blog. XD There is of course nothing official.

HOWEVER, if you guys are loud enough that you want TaleSpin comics, the stars are aligned in just the right way that the powers that be might actually listen. I know you've been shouting for many, many years... but I'd like to see a TaleSpin comic no matter who draws it.

AirPirate moments are fun to draw. Looks like you are a MadDog fan. I swear I've drawn him but I'll have to look later when my power goes back on. If not I'll make sure I do. Gotta practice... for reasons. No reasons... really. XD *looks innocent*

I agree with ya at this point, Gregory, but the fact that there weren't many new Talespin - related comics for many years and the last time they were officially published was in 90s, makes me feel more hungry for them. And no, Darkwing Duck one won't satisfy me enough. :/

Yes, I'm the Mad Dog's fan :) The whiny Air Pirate with cool clothing, design, voice, etc. needs a little love. Even of the fact this admiration started over four years ago, I'm not feeling ashamed of that, And, of course, ya can take the time ;)

Well, to give you a small update on that: It is almost finished. I'm in L.A. right now to finish up on the last interviews (about 14 more to go. Met with Greg Weisman today and I'm still angling for a meeting with Gary Krisel). At this time, about 85% of the book is written (with a huge part TaleSpin, since I took that show to zoom in on how a complete production for a show works). The current deadline for the book is mid December. That's when it will be delivered to the publisher and Disney Licensing. They go over the contents of the book and look at what images I would like to license to show in the book. When Disney gives their 'okidoki', the book will be formatted by the publisher and it will come out not long after that.

But I do see Disney giving me a hard time about a few details. I imagine that they will not like the court cases involved with DTA, the numbers (production costs, overseas expenses, ...) and maybe some details in the stories. I don't know how they will react on the chapter that will cover Bonkers. Nobody likes to admit failure... So there might be a second pass on the submitting it to Disney.

If you have any questions, feel free to keep in touch.

on-topic: yes, there is more talk about comics. I can't divulge too much information on that, but if my sources are correct, we'll see more TaleSpin and other DA properties soon. However, those are just plans and didn't even get past the scripting stage yet, so be patient.

p.s.: the real Tim Van Hal? Is there a fake one around? Should I be worried? :D

So, if ya have gotta the almost finished book, I'll wait 'till that mentioned mid December deadline. I'd wait also for those Talespin comics, if it'd be necessary.

I was talking about the book being real; while the comic book speculation not passing the sniff test.

Oh... thank you! :D
I hope I will soon make you proud to own it. Your (very!) extensive reviews are a real treat!

I am crossing my fingers on it.

Sounds great but I wish we could have a forum to discuss them here with the older one on this forum.
