The Scoundrels - RP Thread

Not long after dragons were integrated into the Viking society, patrols found a nearby island chain. One of those islands acted as the home of a tribe called the Scoundrels, a tribe that focused more on arts than brute force, due to its safe location in the mountainous places of the island.

Once Berk found out about them, of course diplomacy followed. Before long, it was decided that the two villages were to be allies. As such, the Scoundrel leader, Rider the Mighty, led a great expedition to Berk - one of trade, and one to introduce Berk to Rider's daughter, Saga, who would decidedly be arranged to marry Hiccup.

The two young teens have to find their way in a strange new world, all the while knowing the weight of the alliance of their peoples rest on the two of them. Once the realization of what is happening between the two Clans reaches the Outcasts, the Scoundrels find that they're stuck in the middle of a power struggle between two deep-seated enemies.

Economic. They would be crafters and focus mostly on trade, but also be hunters and trappers - fur and whatnot. They would be capable in battle for sure, and quite a few would mine in some of the shallower caves for precious metals and things like iron and copper. This leaves characters open for all sorts of professions and internships/apprenticeships. For that reason, of course they'd want Berk as an ally: trade, and in Berk's eyes, forces against their enemies. Since they're further South, I was thinking the Scoundrels could have acquired horses - draft for farmwork and smaller ones for riding. I also thought they could call the town they live in Burwin.

Leaning over the side of the boat, her cold-brown side-ponytail flitting lightly in the wind, Saga stared ahead through the morning fog. It was rather thick, really, clearing though as they got closer to the shore, which Saga could now make out.
There it was - Berk. Her new home.
She wasn't really ready or willing, but honestly, she didn't think there was much to be done. It was for her tribe. She glanced over her shoulder, looking at her messy-haired twin brother. He seemed far more relaxed - but then again, he'd be returning to their mountain home.

Saga, however, wouldn't.

"What's he like?" her slightly worried, chilly voice broke the quiet ambiance of the boat, realizing her father was next to her.

"Who, the chief's son?" She nodded as her father, a large, dark-haired man himself, looked at her. "They say he conquered the dragons. Clever boy, really, also built a new tail for the one he rides."

Saga scoffed. "Indeed," she agreed semi-sarcastically, shaking her head.

It felt like only a few moments later the ship was docked. She let out a slow, shuddering breath, and froze up. She needed some reason not to put herself on Berk. Suddenly it hit her - her horse. Along with a few others, Saga had brought her horse for comfort. The others were offerings to the Chief, Stoic's, goodwill and trade.

Saga went along the ship into the lower deck, and, finding her red dun stallion, put him on his bridle and led him up.

Grasping his lead, she stared at the grassy ground in front of her. Slowly, she gave another shuddering sigh. "Okay, Viento... Let's go." She closed her eyes, and led her horse off onto Berk.

She opened her eyes, and, approaching a young man about her age - brown hair, lightly built - she asked, "Okay... I'd like to know if you could tell me where the Chief's son is. Is he around?"

(Sorry that was so long... Only post as much as you need. xD I needed this much, and feel free to go back to the boat, as if it's happening as Saga's POV takes place.)

I am soooooo sorry for not replying! Now that the HTTYD fandom is more active (HTTYD2, Defenders of Berk) everyone is on tumblr and other HTTYD fansites. I promise i will find time to reply later next month! Promise!
