Welcome to the kanto roleplay Before we begin let's state a few rules

1.Keep everything PG-13 ok? Nothing inappropriate and keep swearing to a minimum
2.No blood or gore
3.don't make yourself invincible in pokemon battles (EX.Dispokemon use *insert strong move here* oh i dodged it) don't dodge to much or something similar.
4.Don't make yourself start out with all lv.100 legendaries that is just stupid
5. the only exception to #4 is if i assign you a legendary pokemon to play as a Character not a party pokemon
6.This rp takes place in present day pokemon universe so non-legendary pokemon from all regions is accepted
7.Feel free to add any additional details to your character bio
8.Have fun
9.If you read all aforementioned rules place the title of the roleplay(yes even the stuff in the parenthesis) above your character bio.

The Experiment (Pokemon Kanto Roleplay)

Name: Owen Blaine
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Appearance: Rather tall and skinny, could be considered lanky, with light brown hair and blue eyes. Has a slight tan to his skin from training his pokemon out in the sun and journeying around for so long. He wears a blue t-shirt that matches his eyes with a black vest covering it. His pants are khaki and his boots are very dark brown.
Personality: A sweet and caring lad by nature, but none-the-less a spirited and talented pokemon trainer. He does not hold back in battles, and rarely ever takes it easy on someone. However, he is wise and knows when to show mercy. His mother and father were gym leaders and he once had aspiration to become one himself to try and make them proud. However his lack of patience for staying in one place for a long time soon put that dream to rest.
History: Owen was born into a family that mainly consisted of gym leaders and breeders. Because of this he was constantly surrounded by pokemon and easily formed deep friendships with them. His love for pokemon and watching his father battle led to his dreams of becoming a gym leader himself. When he received his first pokemon, a Squirtle, he began taking on challengers in his father's gym as practice. Soon he realised that he didn't want to become a gym leader, as it would involve staying at the gym for the majority at the time and he desperately wanted to travel with his beloved Squirtle. So he said farewell to his parents and headed off on a journey with his pokemon. Along the way he befriended and caught a Spearow and later on caught a Geodude. For three years he travelled on his own, having received his pokemon and later started his journey at age ten. He stopped by at home a few times in those years to say hi and let his family know he was okay. That was when his little sister, who had just turned ten and received her first pokemon, a Charmander, begged him to let her tag along on his journey. He soon agreed and the two siblings have been travelling together since.
Party Pokemon:
Squirtle lv. 12 - Move Set: Tackle, Bubble, Water Gun and Withdraw.
Spearow lv. 10 - Move Set: Peck, Growl and Leer.
Geodude lv. 11 - Move Set: Tackle, Defense Curl, Mud Sport and Rollout.


Name: Alexandra Blaine (Nickname: Alex)
Age: 10
Gender: Female
Appearance: Short and skinny with light brown hair and blue eyes. Quite fair-skinned with a light spray of freckles on her cheeks. She wears an orange shirt with a red over-coat and charcoal-coloured jeans. Her shoes are red and white.
Personality: Bright, fiery and cocky, and a little less than talented pokemon trainer. Because of her tendency to think she's the best and that she can win every battle, one of her pokemon doesn't listen to her and the other one simply feels sorry for her. She is young and naïve and doesn't realise that not every battle can be won on offense alone. Alex hardly ever uses strategy, and that is her biggest down-fall. She taught her pokemon only attack moves, and no stat-altering moves. Alex believes the best way to go is to just keep hitting hard and fast. While she wins some battles thanks to Growlithe, she more often than not loses. She specialises in fire types and absolutely hates bug and ghost types, as they creep her out. Despite her arrogant and fiery nature, she can make a good friend as she is loyal to those she befriends and knows the best ways to cheer them up. She hates seeing her friends or brother sad.
History: Like her brother Owen she was surrounded by pokemon her whole life, but found it easier to just befriend the fire types. Her passion for battling came after watching her mother wipe the floor with a few challengers in her gym. Her mother mostly used fire types, and so because of this and her love for the fire types when the time came she chose Charmander. For the first few days their relationship was alright, albeit a bit rocky at first. Charmander could sense the naivety of the young girl and knew little good could come of it. When they began their journey with Owen and Squirtle, Alex was so excited to catch her first wild pokemon. She saw a Poliwag she desperately wanted, even though it went against her strictly-fire-types-in-my-team code. Foolishly, without even thinking of type match-ups she ordered Charmander to attack it. The battle was over quickly, with Charmander the loser, and the Poliwag escaped. Her brother quickly explained to her that Fire types were weak against water, rock and ground. Disappointed that she hadn't been able to capture her first wild pokemon, she took Charmander to the next pokemon centre and had him healed. Over time, Owen helped Alex to train up her Charmander and make it stronger. Eventually, the time came when Alex first met Growlithe. By sheer dumb luck she managed to catch the fire-dog pokemon. Growlithe took to her immediately, as was the loyal nature of Growlithes, but thought her battle methods were a bit foolish. After plenty of battles, and plenty of losses, Charmander eventually began to distrust Alex and stopped listening to her. Growlithe however, stayed loyal and merely felt sorry for the girl. She just needed to learn that her pokemon weren't machines, and weren't just tools for battling. She needed to learn some strategy as well, and then she would be a finer trainer. Charmander sometimes listens when he knows the battle can be won.
