I've always thought that the theory of Zira killing Simba's son Kopa, was just false and that Zira was a just a maniac follower of Scar, but if whe think well maybe the death of kopa is a good explanation for 3 things we see in The Lion King 2, and maybe it really happend : 1. The exile: Early in the film, it is possible to see most of the details of the exile, when Kiara crosses the border between Pridelands and Exile, a river full of crocodiles as a kind of "barrier" for the outlanders don't pass. After Kovu and Kiara manage to escape the crocodile and go to the Pridelands, Zira was watching them, until Simba appears and defends Kiara, Zira appears defends Kovu blah blah blah, but also Zira describes the exile as there were no food or water. These elements together, lead to a conclusion, if Kopa never existed and never Zira killed him, so why put the outlanders on the dead land, with no food or water, to starve and die, with a barrier protecd with wild crocodiles That kill anything ? Maybe Zira did a really bad thing to deserve this kind of punishiment. 2. Simba's obssesive protection: During the entire movie, Simba proves to be very obsessive for protecting Kiara, he does not allow her to be far from the Pridelands, and not gives her a little of privacy when she's trying to beign alone. Even when she grows up. Simba is always spying on her. Maybe because Simba used to leave Kopa playing alone in the Pridelands and then ... 3. Deleted scenes : In YouTube we can find the Oficial lion king 2 deleted scenes, and the 2 first deleted scenes are the the most important to make we think that Kopa really existed. In the first deleted scene Rafiki's is painting Kiara and Simba i guess, then he says: Aww mufasa such a day has beign! Kiara is born and now the circle of life is complete, and the pride's future is once again secure, he says "once again" secure, even that he could be making a reference to Scar's reign, maybe he means that now Kiara is born she would replace Kopa's place in the circle of life, making the pride complete, and when he says "secure" maybe it has a relation with Zira too, now that she's exiled she can never hurt anyone or broke the circle again. In the second scene we see Kovu, Vitani, Zira and Nuka in the outlands, the scene stars with Zira showing more of her hate for the exile, and teaching Kovu some evil leassons. But then Nuka and Vitani come to bring the news, then Vitani says: Simba's "NEW" cub is a girl, isn't that sounds weird... if Kopa never existed why should Simba have a "NEW" cub... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cctODMSwcj0Maybe Kopa existed, but the question is: Why he isn't in the movie?. Maybe becuase the comics were just to calm down the public and Kopa was just a "role model" for the history. Or the fandom is right? Zira killed Kopa? Other thing i forgot to mention, we can see the others deleted scenes have good reasons for don't be in the movie, well the true Nuka's death is totally sad and dramatic, and the movie want us to see Nuka as a crazy lion, not a poor soul who wants to be loved by his mother, they deleted this scene because the dramatic Nuka's death would make he looks more inocent not "crazy" (I think disney is evil). And Zira's suicide looks like a creppypasta ending, she smiles and say: No... never... with a creppy voice, now imagine this scene in a giant cinema scream, children would be traumatized for the rest of their lives. So in my opinion Kopa is a deleted character who really existed in a hidden backstory, and like Nuka's death or Zira's suicide, Disney don't wanted to show Kopa or Zira's backstory because something happend there... something that would be dramatic and sad, or... something really creppy that would let children traumatized for the rest of their lives.

There are already tons of Kopa Topics on here already. And to be honest, I'm sick and Tired of this always coming back up. Quote: 1. The exile: Early in the film, it is possible to see most of the details of the exile, when Kiara crosses the border between Pridelands and Exile, a river full of crocodiles as a kind of "barrier" for the outlanders don't pass. Maybe Zira did a really bad thing to deserve this kind of punishiment. No. Zira was Clearly Banished because She and Others were followers of Scar who Killed Mufasa. Kopa Was Only in the Books and not the movies. Quote: 2. Again with this Crazy Excuse. Simba Never Had Kopa Rome around because He existed in a Few books Published by Outsiders that got a Approval into the Book Universe of Disney. Simba was overprotective of Kiara, Because he was Just like She was as a Cub. He Did'nt want anything to happen, Because Mufasa Had died. Quote: 3. Deleted scenes : In YouTube we can find the Oficial lion king 2 deleted scenes, and the 2 first deleted scenes are the the most important to make we think that Kopa really existed. Rafiki is Referring to Scar's Reign. 2.Again, Probably an Error When they did the scene. Because in Concept, They were going to give simba two cubs, Chaka and Shani. They Later Decided they Only wanted one, And therefore, Chaka was Dropped, and Shani was Changed to Kiara. Again, It could of also Referred to a New life. You are Free to Believe what ever you want. I'm Not Trying to Force anything here. Just making a point. Quote: Maybe Kopa existed, but the question is: Why he isn't in the movie?. Maybe becuase the comics were just to calm down the public and Kopa was just a "role model" for the history. Or the fandom is right? Zira killed Kopa?

Kopa does exist, but ONLY In the book Universe for true Canon. My Theory is that Kopa Existed but only in the Book Universe.

After reading this, I've realised that Disney could be making some Kopa references in the movie, and could be trying to play with our (the fans) minds a little. So, in theory, I agree with you here. I truly think these are good theories of Kopa really existing in Simba's Pride.
I'd like to mention, the part in the movie where Kiara slips off the rock she was standing on, and her tail flops on her head, making it look like she has a hair tuft. Do you think that could have a strong connection to Kopa in anyway?

Cub named Fluffy until they made Lion king 2 in 1998. The people who wrote the Six new adventures Also Claimed that Kopa was His creation, and NOT disneys. Again, you are free to believe what you like, but I'm just stating Facts.

Maybe he did... in the end of The Lion King, Rafiki had a cub who he had held like Simba when he was little. Who was it? Lots of people think it was Kopa, or Fluffy. Disney had agreed that they wanted the 2nd Lion King movie to be about a female lion, could of been the reason Kopa didn't show up in the 2nd film. Like you said, people think Zira killed Kopa, but I have to disagree with that, Kopa was clearly undecided in the 1st film, showing a cub in the beginning, not Kiara, there was a marking on the cubs ear. Disney may have been undecided then about have two cubs, or it being about a female cub or male.
He was being protective of her because of all he had gone through in his life, the outland lioness, and the deaths he had in his life, he probably didn't want his cub to go through that.
Why Kopa didn't show up in the films, because Disney had wanted a female lioness to take a role in The Lion King.
Like Coolie said, you can believe whatever, I doubt Disney wanted to confuse you, they could have put that ear marking on the cub by mistake.

Nope, Kopa never existed neither does Kiara in the CANON story, it ended with fluffy, but in SP's story which is Non-canon, obviously, it does not have kopa in it, and simba's protectiveness is already explained in the movie, its because Kiara is curious and bound to get in trouble as Simba did as a child, simba even said ''and look what happened'" when referring to how kiara is similar to him when nala suggested it, zira never killed kopa, you shouldn't pay attention to fan made stories claiming to be real. Kopa is a character from the LION KING COMICS, he was made by a guy named Alex simmon and in the comics, kopa never meets zira nor vitani and definitely dont fall in love with her as many youtube videos show, its all fanfic about, most youtube videos show kopa and vitani in love, then zira finding out and grounding vitani telling her to never see kopa again kopa goes to see vitani and zira confronts kopa and kills him, simba gets pissed and banishes zira Lol, I can grantee you simba would have KILLED zira if any of that was true, not banished,

Yes, Kopa was a NON-Canon character. If you recall the part, Nala is like "Simba, who does she remind you of?" And Simba was like, "What? Who?" "She's just like you were when you were young." "Exactly"
He said exactly because he didn't want Kiara to be like him because of Mufasa and all he had gone through. The Lion King 2 was created by diffrent people then The Lion King. The Six New Adventure books were not created by Disney, thus Kopa was made up by them. Disney just got lazy in the ending, and decided to put a random cub in the ending of The Lion King. Disney decided the name Fluffy, unlike most of the African names in the movie. I do think they should of put more detail in the cub, since it was an important part of the ending. Yes, the cub at the ending was Fluffy, it was the name given by Disney. Then SNA came out, and they renamed him Kopa. Two other names took over for Kopa which are Chaka and Naba. Then they edited Naba to Shani, then Aisha, then Nunka and finally Kiara. So it went from Fluffy to Kiara. Disney at the end of the 1st film, was unsure whether they were going to make another film and whether the film was going to star a female cub or male. Fans soon came up with made-up names for the cub, and the most popular one was Tanabi. The whole "Zira killed Kopa" thing came when they made The Lion King 2 Simba's Pride. No offical statement has been made by Disney about Kopa, but the offical canon name is Fluffy.
Kopa was not real, nor was he ever real in the movie. He was just made in books. He could possibly be Nala and Simba's second cub right after The Lion King 2 was over, but I don't really think so, Kopa was just a non-canon character, he never showed up in one part of the film. As for people who think he is the cub in the ending, that is not true, it was Fluffy.
Plus, Kopa was made after Disney created both The Lion King's, they didn't even know he would ever exist when they made the movies. If you watch the movie over, they never mention anything about the made-up Six New Adventures in The Lion King. If Disney ever wanted Kopa in the movies, they would probably make another one where Nala has a second cub, but when the SNA books came out, Disney never wanted anything to do with those books. The maker of course had permission, and he claimed it was prequel to The Lion King 2. You can believe whatever you want though. ^^
