The more you think about it the more you realize Zira's plan didn't fail. Well it didn't turn out like she wanted but Kovu is still going to be king of the Pridelands like she wanted (except well he won't be evil like she intended)


Although her suicide scene was cut we can see her smiling as she's falling~

Creepy right? We think she was smiling because she would finally be with Scar and Nuka. What if she was also smiling because she knew Kovu was going to be the next king and that her plan had not failed? That would be creepy but its something to think about

Hmm interesting. Actually sound quite good story. Her smile was quite creepy lol. Anyway.., I support that. It's cool!

Well, this theory is a well-thought out. However, I only agree with the Nuka and Scar bit.
1. Zira wasn't smiling-it was just her mouth position.
2. And she wanted Kovu to rule the Pridelands to ruin everything, and take over/basically avenge Scar^^

The own Lion King producers said she was smiling.

But you have a point about her wanting him to ruin everything.

In "My Lullaby" we also understand that she wants Kovu to succeed Scar (which did happen) she also wanted the Outsiders to live in the Pridelands (this also happens)

But your opinion counts too. This is just my theory

Kovu becoming king was part of Zira's plan, but you're forgetting how she wanted that to occur: by Kovu killing Simba.

Her plan, overall, was more about getting revenge for Scar than it was about Kovu becoming king; that was just a means of doing so. And that didn't quite work out. Rather, Kovu joined up with the Pridelanders, Simba continued his reign, the Outlanders were peacefully reunited with the Pride rather than taking it over, and Zira fell to her death. No revenge achieved.

So yes, I'd say that Zira's plan did, in fact, fail. As for her smile during her (cut) suicide? I think that more the result of a slip of insanity. She was so loyal to Scar, so desperate, that she outright refused the sincerely offered help of Kiara, her enemy's daughter. She would rather die that accept their help--and she quite willingly, almost proudly, did.

The smile of Zira when she was falling was actually a mistake. It's actually from the deleted version of the same scene where Kiara asked her if she could help her and she would answer "No....Never..." and she would fall of the cliff herself while she was smiling. It was cut though because it was too dark for Disney.
