Yes I know Scar slew his own brother to achieve his ambition but do you hold this against him?

Taka= Trash

Mufasa= King

That shows that Scar and Mufasa's father despised Scar from the beginning.

Taka wanted to be king but his father refused and chose Mufasa

Taka loved Sarabi but didn't get her.. Mufasa did

Mufasa had friends... Taka only had hyenas

Scar was looked upon as an outsider and a thug-lion while Mufasa was a mighty king

So I give him: Miserable & misunderstood

It's hard to comment really, unless you take the book's backstory in account, or if you don't - if you go entirely by the movie he seems just like a jerk, that's what I grew up on so I'd have to go with "as evil".

I think that he was both evil and miserable. I Believe That when he was little , that His Father And Mother Loved him Very much , but Mufasa Kept on Stealing Attention from His Parents. This Made Scar Jealous.

i would say that Scar is pure evil even from the start he was a power hungry villain wanting to kill his brother and nephew and rule the pridelands and he allied with the hyenas to make his plan work and the hyenas were not as evil as him .

As a villain, Scar is the most complex character in TLK, i mean, it's hard to understand why some people are evil and cruel, or what can make someone be evil. Of course, no one is born evil, people become evil for a reason, and in Scar's case, he probably became evil because of the rejection of his father, and the way Mufasa got everything Scar ever wanted and nothing was left for him. So, it's hard to say what Scar truly is, but I like to believe that Scar never wanted to be evil, he just wanted to be recognized by his potentials, but the lions around him just saw him as a miserable and a loser, and then his desires turns to madness and he end up evil. So yeah... Scar is just a psychologically complex villain.
