Which of you have found some items that caused you to squee or geek out about, that was for a bargain at thrift stores? Do you go frequently to look for certain items? Have you come across something good that you didn't expect to see?

There's this one place called "Vintage Value" my mom and I go to every now and then. We usually go book shopping, as well as check and see if there's any good board games, card games, or any other form of good game that's low-tech.

My mind has been blown over what Mom saw and bought over there today. At the comic store ten minutes away from home, Pandemic is around 30 dollars. At the thrift store, she got it for 27 dollars cheaper!

XD Soon after she bought it, she called me while I was at work. I geeked out. Big time.

Pandemic is this cooperative and challenging co-op game we enjoyed playing a while back with friends at this old meetup group about two times. 2-5 players. Everyone is a team racing together to find the 4 cures to the 4 viruses before there's one too many breakouts and humanity is doomed. Very good game. I'm so happy we have that in our home collection. I can hardly WAIT for us to re-learn it! It's been at least a few years since that one time!

Everything in the box is all there too, all in very good condition! At least half of our board game collection is from that one store, actually. A guy we game with had called us the "Thrift Store Entrepreneurs" because of that.

We found some other great buys over there too; some old yet fun Playstation games, some audio cassettes and CDs... 3 CDs bought in particular are old Disney soundtracks; Lion King on Broadway, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast. All in good condition, and none of the songs skip. :D

Ohh heck yes!

I'm always finding DVDs for around $3 whereas they'd be over $10 in other places, for one. However, my greatest "treasures" are when I found some things I collect...

This is my favorite find: a rare Balto washcloth and towel that I found at my local flea market!

Here are some other pictures of them individually:

The towel

The other collection item that I found at a thrift store is the VHS of Anastasia. (:
On the right. I took a picture of it next to the DVD I bought on the same day, but I got the DVD at a regular price at Target

I don't go to thrift shops often, but I mainly go for when I need costume items for theatre productions. I haven't been to thrift shops in a while because I haven't needed any material besides specific acrylic paint, which I got elsewhere.

I can only praise second-hand shops here xD I'm a LARPer and I alaways seach for parts to my costumes in second hand shops. I found many cool and really cheap clothes there, for alternate and some really nice clothes just to wear. Let me show you my latest orc costume:

Linien dress found in second hand. Leather corset was made by me out of another dress from second hand shop. All bought for almost no price. Fox tail and fox paw were also found in secon hands.

Very cool. : D It's always so cool the fact that someone gave away some clothes that they probably never thought would be reused for great purposes.
