Hiya! I'm Mari. I'm from Southern Maryland, and I've been into cartoons (comics too) from a very young age to today. I'll probably never outgrow my love for them.

I'm a major fan of most of the films that are listed on the boards under "Animated Films". Spirit, ADGtH, and Lion King are all classics in my opinion. That's what had me convinced to join this community.

I'm also an anime and manga geek. My own collections of each I don't think will stop in their gradual growth and expansion. XD

Aside from those, I'm a fan of video games and board gaming. Board gaming a bit more than video games these days, because I'm in a meetup that gets together and play games like Tsuro, Caracassone, Fluxx, Spinners Dominoes, and Zombie Dice. And more, since some of us always bring our bags of games, lol.

So, uh, here's hoping I stick around long enough to get to know at least some of you. I'm kinda bad in frequently visiting message boards. LiveJournal has been my main internet hangout for a very long time, but not so much that I like to branch out once in a while!

Thanks, I'm glad I joined.

Oh, about a handful; Wolf's Rain, Durarara, Beck Mongolian Chop Squad, Darker Than Black, Black Cat (the manga a little more than the anime), Death Note (manga definitely--have just one volume of the anime), RahXephon... Those are some of my faves!

How about yourself?

The only ones from your list that I've read/seen are Wolf's Rain, Durarara, and DeathNote. But they're all popular so it's no wonder. I've heard of Black Cat, though it not really my style for either the Manga or Anime. I'm rather picky when it comes to preferences. If you're ever looking for other series, I know a few.

Other than that welcome to the forums!

Can't be helped if I like some of the popular ones. DRRR manga I've been into. The first of the Saika Arc I just finished today. (I also like to RP on another site as Izaya. :P Sometimes I just have too much fun with that crazy troll.)

Not really looking for other series as of now, since I think the next manga series I'd want to check out sometime later on is D. Gray Man. Thanks anyway though!

xD That works since D. Gray-Man it was one I was going to recommend if you were curious. It's awesome.

Hehe, cool. I already have the second one (given to me by a friend a while back) but since I prefer reading stuff in order, I could buy the first volume at the local comic and board game shop later.

I've watched Wolf's Rain and Black Cat, but they're not really among my favorites. I like, Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Get Backers, Saiyuki, Soul Eater, Fruits Basket, and a little of this and that. I've tried reading the mangas to ones I really like, but I never was able to make it far in many, but I've read bits and pieces of some.

Oh and I watch D. Gray-Man. I'd recommend it too. 8]

Wolf's Rain has been a huge favorite of minee (even though it gets so sad in places). As I've said the Black Cat manga I've liked more because some of the characters are just cooler in that than the anime; Manga Shiki FTW. I also liked the manga versions of Saya and Train more than the anime versions.

I've seen up to the beginning of season 2 of Bleach On Demand in order before it got taken off (grrr) and I have some of the manga, in which is just as good. I've yet to start over on either since it's been a while. Awesome series yes but I think I got sucked in by some other fandoms. ^^; Got distracted.

I've seen a lot of anime and just a little under half of what I've seen On Demand I have on DVD. Most of the ones I've watched all the way through and don't have--I'd like to have them. Brigadoon, Demon Lord Dante, Descendants of Darkness, Red Garden (well I've only seen half before that got taken off for some reason--and I have the first four episodes on DVD). Aquarion, Air Gear, Escaflowne, xxxHolic... I can't remember what else but I've seen a bunch.

Over here, the manga is more available than anime; at two local libraries and this comic and board game store about 10 minutes away from home. My family and I rarely ever shop for stuff online.

The few times I actually got the complete series of any of my favorites was mostly at the Suncoast video store before that closed down for good. The best anime selection I saw was at that store, hands down! :( The only place I know of that has any anime anywhere for sale is a Best Buy that's probably 40 minutes away, and it's only one little shelf. It's pitiful and sad to see... I don't know if the Books-A-Million that replaced a Borders store has any but I hope to go there someday soon and find out. If I can find what I'm missing of Darker Than Black season 1 (my most favorite anime serialization of all time) and at least find one volume of the DRRR anime, I'd be happy! The DRRR manga is a bit better in places, Izaya's cell phone stomping scene is funnier to list one example, but the anime is still a new favorite of mine. XD Saw it all and loved it. Thank yoooou for letting me see all of that On Demand, Adult Swim!

*mentally smacks forehead* Oh yeah--since I finished reading the first of "DRRR: Saika Arc" over the weekend, I ought to look up the release date for the second one!

Soul Eater I've yet to check out. I've seen and heard good things about that. The Get Backers I have read some of the manga and watched a bit of the show On Demand once. Like them both. Maybe I'll start owning either one day. Fruits Basket I think I've seen half of, but eventually it just wasn't my cup of tea anymore. I guess I just lost interest in it.
