I know alot of people complain about this, but where is the old Animation Source? Steet is obviously not on here anymore. People says he now very often goes on Fanfiction.net. Why would Steet just leave the sites he has taken care of for so long? You know why, cause he felt overwhelmed! There are too many sources! Now, I know Steet wants to leave them up there, and 25% want all the sources to stay, and 75% want some of them to go. They also need more mods, and some of the time the images don't get activated. My review on The Lion King Source didn't get activated yet. All I want to say is, I want Steet to come back and love his source family, but I am afraid it is never going to happen.

This really isn't a rant.

But I do agree, Steet needs to fix a lot of things.

It's odd because it kind of is a rant but it also kind of isn't.
Doesn't quite fit in here but I can't think of another board where it would fit better, so it can probably just stay here. xD

Referring to the topic itself - I gotta say I agree.
I don't think it's quite the number of sources that has Steet overwhelmed - I think it's the number of members. Everyone wants their site to be popular and AS managed it, it gets quite a lot of visitors every day.
Unfortunately, with that comes more conflict and sadly for Steet & AS, with how badly the site is managed and moderated that means a hot mess for everyone.

I truly believe the site needs 3 things, really badly.

1: It needs a good, unbiased, professional-acting and active admin to oversee the mods so not everyone keeps running to Steet with their problems flooding his inbox and pestering him. Someone who doesn't have some hidden agenda or plan to change AS into what they personally want at the expense of anyone who even remotely disagrees.
Someone who can also act as a medium between Steet and the userbase when needed so people are not constantly bugging him.

2: It needs better mods. It can't be sugar-coated in any way - the mods are not doing their jobs. Half of them are too busy figuratively flinging crap about and satisfying personal grudges by abusing their power and the other half are too scared or disinterested in entering any conflict they do as little as possible.
Lots of people have voiced unhappiness with the mods - whether that be the fact certain mods seem to be targeting them because of personal grudges or whether it's with horrendous wait-times for fan content activation or responses to reports or lack of help with issues they have.

3: It needs someone Steet can trust to help him with the coding. He's previously said that he finds it overwhelming sometimes seeing as his job is also coding and/or programming to get home and start doing even more on AS. However AS is not going to get better without some patches, there are glitches that have been annoyances for months that are still un-fixed and many suggestions that cannot be done without some extra coding.

Everyone's just overwhelmed because the management is only made of a small group of mods (half of them don't do much) over like 15 sites. And then steet. I wish it could go back to where there were admins to each site, or if it's a small site an admin could take two or maybe even three small sites. I'm not sure why steet would completely change the management when all he needed were just some replacements. I also agree with the coder. We need some help with security so we can stop the trolls and hackers.

If anything, steet just needs an assistant. Someone who will actually deal with things that steet doesn't want to deal with, like everything on BS. I think if nothing else, we at LEAST need someone who will listen to us.

This all the way. The major staff cut steet did caused a lot of damage to everything. And of course with steet gone not even to manage the small staff he wanted, we're basically still screwed. Which I'm predicting we'll always be stuck without a helpful webmaster or admin to get AS back on its feet.

^^What UK said, seriously that's it. The unfortunate reality is, steets going to have to orchestrate it himself, otherwise we're left for dead in a matter of speaking.

One thing I've learned though, almost everyone has an agenda of some sort. Steet's trust has probably been degraded over the years to basically nothing.

And Steet had an assistant who under unfortunate circumstances left. And bringing up the mass demoderation brings a fair amount of bile to my throat just thinking about it, so I won't continue on that topic. The only thing I'd add to UK's post is that this site needs steet, period, otherwise nothing else will really happen and we're stuck in our vicious cycle of being able to find what's wrong with the site, but being unable to fix it.

Hmm... the members. I think you might be right UK. The site can be popular but than again not to popular. That might be why Steet left. And he was probably getting too many PMs.


1. Exactly. I usually go to the mods when I have a problem, but two times I only had to go to Steet. Poor Steet. So many people bugging him. =( I guess he was getting too overwelmed.

2. I have to agree with you on this one. Better mods. I'm not going to say who, but Brown Wolf is doing a great job and maybe one or two others. Ugh, and as I told you above, the mods haven't even activated my review for The Lion King source. I mean wow! It's been sitting there since I joined the site in March 2012. I agree with you on this one. Better mods and maybe even more.

3. Hmm... yes, I think maybe Steet can have an assistant helper for coding and maybe put it on the news. You never know, it might not be as overwhelming. See, I can't do coding though. xD

Imagine -> I know, right? Steet needs an assistant. If only he come back (which will probably never happen), and do something to get an assistant. =( Poor Steet is all I gotta say.

Paxis -> I have to agree with you. There is no webmaster anymore, cause Steet is gone. They need more mods. And I think there is only seven. Correct me if I am wrong. But overall I agree with you.

If reviews aren't in the mod panel, then that means they've disappeared overall. They're not in the panel for site builders and they're not auto-activated. Can a mod clear this up, please?

Because they weren't approved by a person with the permissions, only steet can do it. :/ Grey Wolf might, but she doesn't like the english side.



The reviews before the mass staff removal had REVIEW MODS to activate them, so they're not automatic.

Oh! What did I tell you? We need Steet back to keep the site running.

Ah, so that's why my Cat's Don't Dance Review has yet to be activated, pity. I asked a mod too and they weren't able to do anything about it or give me a reasonable explanation as to why it remained in that state. Thanks for clearing it up.
