Plot
A young adult named Erika, has just moved into a horse ranch. But, the problem is: she doesn't have any horses! She needs to get people to join with their horses, or she might have to move somewhere else. She needs your help!

Jaylin got her first horse on her 12th birthday.

Often when other people try to ride her they will get thrown off unless Jaylin is leading her while they ride.

As they pulled into the ranch, Jaylin's smle grew bigger and bigger. She was very excited to be here. "I wonder who else is going to be training here.." Jaylin thought, staring out the window. Her mom was driving the big silver suburban hauling the horses. Jaylin didn't have her drivers licence yet, or any motivation to get one. She preferred traveling by horse, considering it to be better for the environment. "Uncle Kracker and Kamia are going to love it here, mom!" said Jaylin, looking at her mom and back out the window. The suburban came to a stop and Jaylin hurried out and to the trailer. She led Uncle Kracker out first and tyed him up so she could get Kamia. The red roan arabian tossed his head in excitement, wanting out of his halter and to go running. Slowly, Jaylin led Kamia out. The white arabian was very calm as she was tyed to the trailer next to Uncle Kracker.

Erika hurried out to meet the new guest. She grabbed her sweater and hurried out to meet the guest. "Hi," Erika said. "My name's Erika! Uh... just one thing, I don't have any horses so you mind if I help you with your horses?" Erika looked the new girl up and down. She looked a year younger than Erika, but overall a cowgirl! Erika looked at the girl's horses, and wished she had one of her own.

"Hi! I'm Jaylin!" Jaylin introduced, walking over to Uncle Kracker and patting his side. "This is Uncle Kracker here, He's a little rascal." She said, messing with Uncle Kracker's mane. "And this girl here is Kamia! She's a sassy lady!" Kamia snorted in agreement, making Jaylin giggle a little. "Well, Here, If you'd like to lead Kamia around a little. Uncle Kracker might be a little entergentic right now." She said, untying Kamia then holding the rope out to Erika. Jelous, Uncle Kracker snorted and pawed at the dirt. "Stop. We'll go for a walk." Jaylin said, leading him away from the trailer.

Erika took hold of the mare, and led her around the barnyard. She patted Kamia's neck, leading her around the barn. She got inside the stables. She showed the Kamia the stables, than headed back towards Jaylin. "She is a sweet girl," Erika said. "Um, do you have any idea if there is going to be an auction round here?" Jaylin looked confused, than Erika explained. "Well, you see my parents gave me this ranch, but I don't have any horses." She patted Kamia's neck. "And I just don't know where to get any, so that's why, I need a horses. But than, I was also wondering if you could teach me how to ride a horse, too?" Erika felt sorry for Jaylin having to put all these questions in her head, but Erika felt now was the time to spill them all out.

"Well, I think there might be an auction on the 21st... I was thinking about getting another horse for my sister to train and ride." Jaylin explained. "I think I could teach you.. But I'll have to lead you on Kamia the first couple times so she can get used to you." She said, running her fingers through Uncle Kracker's mane. Smiling she started to lead Uncle Kracker away from the trailer and toward the cab of the suburban and knocked on the window. "You can just leave the trailer right there, mom. I'm sure we'll be able to move it later. Is my bow in the trailer?" Jaylin whispered the last part, hoping Erika wouldn't care if she had her bow here. She was planning on riding to a nearby lake or river and go spear fishing.

Erika nodded, and waited while Jaylin went to talk to her mom. While she waited, she touched Kamia's mane on her forehead. Erika just noticed the little symbol on her shoulder. She couldn't make out what it was though. She would just have to talk to Jaylin when she came back and ask her.

"Yes, Your brother remembered to put it in there. Thank him when you get the chance, Okay hunny? I'll park the trailer, You go for a ride, get to know the place!" Jaylin's mother suggested, pulling forward slightly. Jaylin troted Uncle Kracker back over by Erika and smiled. "Well, My moms going to park the trailer, We can go for a ride if you want." She wanted to take Uncle Kracker out with a saddle and bridle on. He had done so before, but needed much more practice. Now was the perfect time to do some training. Quickly, Jaylin hurried over to the trailer. Her mom was unhitching it now so Jaylin could get in the storage room for get saddles. She tied Uncle Kracker up and went in to find his saddle.

Erika nodded her head, forgetting about the question she was going to ask Jaylin. Jaylin seemed really nice, and she knew they were going to get along great. When Jaylin came out with the saddle, Erika felt her heart pound with excitement. "Will I ride Kamia?" she asked. Her belly did a flip. Would Jaylin let her? She couldn't wait t show Jaylin her favorite place to visit. The meadow! She couldn't wait!

The chaufer pulled up in the large, white limosine, and Chessie Ann D'Garlon looked out of the window, twisting a golden brown curl around her finger thoughtfully,

"I wonder if this will ACTUALLY be WORTH it, Joseph," she said, sighing indulgently.

"Well, I only know that your PARENTS thought that the experience would be good for you," he answered with an obedient smile.

Oh, my PARENTS, my PARENTS..." Rolling her pretty, blue eyes, Chessie yawned, waiting for Joseph to open her door.

"Oh, THERE you are!", she smiled, as the chaufer took her hand. The two of them laughed good-naturedly, because this was their own private joke, the one thing that made their eyes sparkle with equal light.

As she gave Joseph a "Goodbye" hug, she wondered what her life would be like here, and she wondered about the people whom she'd have to put up with.

When Joseph got back into the limosine, Chessie made her way towards the girl whom she HOPED was Erika. Walking purposefully, and quietly, she put her nose just slightly into the air.

"Hello," she said, once she was face to face with a brown-haired girl. "My name is Chessie Ann D'Garlon, and I'm here to join the ranch. My horse will arrive tomorrow."

Erika looked at the girl up and down. Than she said," Okay. I just want to tell you my parents gave me this ranch, so um..." Erika was nervous to tell her that she didn't have a horse. What would she say? But Erika knew she would have to say it one time or later. Erika sighed. "I don't have any horses. I thought my parents would give me a horse too, and now I don't know where to get one." Erika looked miserable, than brightend up a bit. "I'd like you to meet a friend of mine, um... yeah, friend!" Erika went outside to introduce Jaylin. "This is Jaylin! She also has her horses and we were just going out for a ride." Erika's face brightend up, but than it faded. "Except you don't have your horse yet."

Smiling, Jaylin held out her hand and shook the new girl's. "Jaylin." She said, brushing the hair out of her face. She placed the saddle on Uncle Kracker's back and tightend it up. "Atta boy.." She whispered, going back into the little storage room to get Kamia's saddle. The saddle pad was an old, dull, lavender pad. She smiled at it as she picked it up. It brought back so many memories from when they were younger. She brought in out and stoked Kamia before putting it on her back. She would usually buck it off before it was tightend if you didn't pet her or praise her first. "Good girl. Now let's get your bridle on.." She praise as she went into the storage room for the last time. Two bridles hung next to eachother on a rack. One was a shiny black and the other was Kamia's. A old, worn out, regular brown bridle. It also brought back so many memories..
