This topic is for the fans who still believes. any onewho still believes can reply here, anyone who dosen't believe don't reply. If you do there's going to be some arguments. I felt like there's a war coming between the fans that wanted a sequel and the fans that just get on with their lives. So I say bring it on.

This topic is just downright stupid and pointless...

There is no war underway, but there might be one if you don't stop with this Balto thing. You're seriously wasting your time with this.

(Can someone explain to me what "Believing in Balto" is supposed to mean?)

There will never be another Balto movie. End of discussion. Universal has said themselves that they have turned away from Balto altogether and they don't plan on bringing back the movie in any way at all. Now that doesn't mean I don't want another sequel. If in some wild turn of events that Universal said they were going to bring back the movie or create a sequel, I'd be all for it. But you can't just hope there will be a sequel just because you want one. You need to consider the point of view of the producers.

In other words, anyone who doesn't meet with your personal concept of "belief in Balto" need not reply, because any form of debate of YOUR point of view would be tantamount to disbelief in Balto and would surely be nothing more than arguing. Is that it?

A war??? Alright, NOW you're starting to weird me out. I've tried to be civil in response to your psots, and reasonable, but you really have lost your mind, and are definitely going to end up starting trouble on here with this baloney. Above you indicated you were hesitant, maybe even fearful, of argument and debate in this topic, and yet you now want a war, and for those who don't want a Balto sequel to "bring it on"? Have you lost your marbles?

---------------

Guys, this person is not going to get it. He's clearly indicated, after having been told in at least three different locations, that the sequel idea is pretty much dead in the water. DEAD. It's noobish behavior to keep going like this, and we've seen it before. I say just report the topic and the individual, and this can join the continuing list of locked, pointless topics.

The resune (I think that's how you spell it) I say believe in balto is because I think you fans are "lazy" because none of you did some reserch on universal studios or who runs the companiy or where the president of universal studios live. Well I do so stop with the art and story projects and start going on strike.

Uh huh. And you know that for a certain fact.

And you have a keener eye on how to contact a production studio than anyone else on this site, hmm? Is that what you'd like us to believe?

Incidentally, it's "reason". And "research". And "company". And Balto. And Universal Studios. Gonna need to work on that if you expect to communicate with them. Because they don't talk to children or teens who cannot construct intelligible letters or e-mails.

And you'd better not be trying to locate the personal private residence of the CEO of Universal Studios. Contacting that person there could hypothetically not only land you in a great deal of trouble, but will assure you of a complete failure. Those people DON'T conduct business out of their private residences. Especially with children.

Reason
Balto
Research
Company

Spell check PLEASE

No we're not lazy, you just don't get it. You have no idea what you're talking about or getting yourself into. There is no research to be done here, we know the facts.

So wait, are you going on a strike now? What is that going to prove?

So you say you want to contact Universal while you can't even form a proper, correct sentence?

I think this topic is just about someone's unreal dream and should be locked.

Believe me, I want Balto 4 to still happen. There's nothing wrong with hope, even if it is considered false hope by many. Many even on here

Good luck contacting them.

Steet has sent a petition to them before. Asking for them to revive the Balto franchise in at least some way.
Several individuals have also sent their own emails to Universal, myself included. The only reply I got was "Sorry you contacted the wrong area." - no matter which one I sent the email to.

Let's face it, for a movie franchise to keep going it needs to earn money. LOTS of money.
Balto's total domestic gross earnings were $11,348,324.
Let's compare that to some recent animated movies that have been released;
The Lorax - $214,030,500
Brave (Opening weekend only) - $66,323,594
Ice Age 4 - $156,149,655

How about we compare it to other animated movies released in 1995, when Balto was released?
Toy Story - $361,958,736
Pocahontas - $346,079,773

Those are pretty huge differences in earnings. Even if Balto was re-released, I doubt it would earn much more.
The Lion King did well, but that also earned a LOT in it's original release.
The Lion King original release in 1994 - $422,783,937 (Total domestic gross)
The Lion King 3D re-release - $94,242,001 (Total domestic gross)

That's a lot less than it's original release. Films like these don't seem to be faring too well in an age of CGi and 3D. Even if it were remastered into 3D it wouldn't change much, Balto was never intended to be 3D so the effect would be barely noticeable (like with The Lion King). Assuming Balto would do the same as TLK and decrease in earnings with a re-release, it wouldn't be worth it to Universal.

(Note that these are mostly just the domestic gross, meaning just in the USA. The worldwide gross totals are even higher except in the case of Balto where it's not been split into domestic & worldwide.)

Unless you reckon you can earn them a few hundred million dollars using Balto I doubt much will be done.

Even if Universal is done with Balto, the least they can do is hand over the rights of all their old animated films to some other company. Maybe someone who actually wants to do something with them. It just seems like they've put them up on the shelves to gather dust. At least Disney does something with all its old films.
