Oh no, another character rant.

So I've seen a fair amount of this. Does anyone else feel rather bothered when they go to some character's page and over half the bio turns out to be pointless relations slots? Near the whole page of "mate:, ex-mate:, crush(s):, crusher(s):, parents:, siblings (litter one):, siblings (litter two):, pups (litter 47381):, aunts:, uncles:, cousins:, friends:, enemies:, etc. and about a million other things that could easily be mentioned in the history instead, and then have this tiny (and extremely underdeveloped) history and/or personality section under it all.

I mean, come on, guys. A character isn't just some relation for some other character. It's--or at least, it's supposed to be--an individual with a realistic personality and believeable development. DEFINITELY NOT just some poorly-developed design made to be [insert relation here] to some other design!

Granted, I realize that in developed stories there will likely be minor characters who don't have much development simply because it's not very improtant to the story, but if the character is so unimportant to the plotline, why BOTHER making a character page? Not EVERY character needs one. It IS possible to have a character without giving then a character page and it IS possible to at least be able to wait to make that character page until you've given your character a substantial development!

Yyyyeeeeaaahhh. Come on, guys. Let's see some characters with some REAL development, please. Thanks. :/

I hate it when people do that. It suffices enough to just put 'Relations' or 'Parents' and 'Siblings'. Like you said, they can add friends and enemies in an interesting way in the history. Then you'd know why they were friends or enemies.

I hate seeing profiles with familly relations described like it was "The Bold and the Beautiful". Especially when most of them says "UNKNOWN". Yeah, then why the hell would I even bother to care who is you character's step grandmother from brother's side when it doesn't even have one?!
I also hate seeing all genetics of the character's bree written. Something like this one(I saw it somewhere):
Quote:
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order: Carnivora
Family: Canidae
Subfamily: Caninae
Tribe: Canini
Genus: Canis
Species: C. lupus

Seriously, "gray wolf" is perfectly enough...
