"You're on cowboy." she said with a grin. He nodded, swinging onto his mount. She mounted her own horse, a tall bay thoroughbred and glanced over at him. "Around the track, winner gets to keep her pride." she said, purposefully excluding a he from it. He grinned.

"Alright little lady, to the start." he said and kicked his horse forward. She followed and they stopped when they were even with the start gate. She glanced at him.

"Ready. Set. GO!!!!!!" she exclaimed and laughed as her horse burst forward. He kept pace, but slowly dropped back, he couldn't believe it, she rode like a man. More than that. His father had always said that women were better horseman, but she was riding petty English and was doing better than him. She waited for him a few second before he crossed the finish, a triumphant smirk on her face.

"What was that you said about girls and English and not being able to race eh?" she asked.

"Alright, alright, you're better than I am, your just going to have to get used to me. I'm a ranch hand now." he said and tipped his hat before riding away. She grinned after him.

"Oh I already have cowboy, I already have." she said and shook her head.



Plotish thingy:
(Doesn't have to go exactly like this or anything, just what is to happen and has happened sort of thing..)

He was a bad boy, a cowboy. He had just gotten out of prison for a fight. He loved his horse more than anything and he got a job at the most prestigious barn in the US, Oakland Stables as a stable hand and workout rider (Breezes horses in the morning and rides when jockeys can't). Where the preppy kids ride.

There he met the jockey rising in the ranks to stardom Alison Paige, where he was shocked by her ability on horseback. And he teased her and got his butt kicked by her several times. But, secretly they were in love and found there feelings growing stronger... what will happen... dun dun dunnnnn..

Meanwhile- their horses could have a romance as well...

Oh and set in Northern CA

The barns (all lined up scattered on the property, each holds 20 horses and there is about a hundred on the grounds (keep in mind this is the home off all prestigious races and events)

Alison woke to the extremely annoying blare of her alarm, she grumbled a few choice cuss words under her breath and sat up, rubbing her eyes and running a hand though her wild brown hair. She rose, pulling on breeches and long black riding boots, leaving on her turquoise tank top and pulling her hair back in a bun. She splashed water in her face and stumbled out of her tin trailer. She grabbed her crop and jogged to the barn, already much more awake. Horses did that to her, every day she could hardly wait to get outside and ride, she had always been like that. She stopped at each horse's stall in the west wing, taking care of them as was part of her job as the horse's jockey and trainer. She ended with her own horses stall, patting her neck.

"Your last today girly, sorry." she said apologetically and smiled. She had seventeen horses to work this morning including her mare. She went to the first stall, tacking up a smaller black gelding with the small light racing saddle, slipping on his bridle and walking him out, she mounted at the mounting block and took the horse onto the track. She didn't have a moment to loose.

Kit awoke without the aid of the alarm clock this morning, walking into the bathroom and getting a quick shower, making sure to shave while he was in there. He smiled some and felt his smooth face as he got dressed in a pair of faded jeans, unbuttoned dress shirt, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat. Kit walked outside, his hands were hard from working all his life. He went straight to the barn and grabbed Comet out of his stall, getting him all tacked up in a western saddle and western tack. Kit had tried Comet on english but Comet threw that saddle immediatly and refused against it. "Your pure-D western aren't ya?" He grinned, Comet giving him a light nicker. Kit swung onto his back and kicked his sides.

Alison's mount gave her a hard time, pulling for his head as she trotted him around the track, she kept him under control.

"Easy." she said, putting a steadying hand on the horse's neck, he calmed a bit, she lapped him several times, making sure to properly warm him up as to not hurt him. She then pulled him to a stop and beckoned over a little stable boy, who operated the starting gate, she rode the young thoroughbred in and the gate closed behind them, he was nervous, but she'd been working on it with him so he was fairly quiet, she nodded to the boy, who opened the gate, ringing the bell and they took off, giving it a good start, she kept him at a medium pace at first, then let him have his head.

OOC::// Can I play as a wild horse that she has trouble training and so Kit helps her out, which brings them closer?

OOC::// sure, that'd be cool. Maybe she buys it at a horse auction and wants to save it- but it's a stallion so it won't let her gain dominance over it- ish sort of dealio...

OOC::// Mkay, I made him and I thought maybe he'd just get loose from his old owner and get lost but he comes wandering into the stable because of the smell of other horses...

Kit smiled and mounted Comet, kicking his sides and letting him do the rest. They went over to an outdoor arena and began practicing with their barrel racing. Kit noticed the girl on the track and shook his head. "City folk probably." He said and patted Comet, "Farm life is the best life just remember that." He said with a country accent. Kit smiled as Comet weaved through the barrels with ease.

Alison finished the lap and cooled down the gelding before untacking him, washing him and putting him back in his stall, some days she wished she was a horse- then she could be the one being spoiled and running. She was about to get out the next horse when she spotted a loose horse, she grabbed an extra lead and approached it cautiously, talking in a soft voice.

Aztec backed up slowly, rearing up in protest. He snorted some, pawing the ground to show he was very not happy right now. Aztec's ears were pinned flat against his head as he snorted. He was no horse to be messed with. Aztec didn't like this new person and he wanted to get out of her as fast as he could. Aztec surprisingly wouldn't turn his back on this new person, having major trust issues. Aztec was pretty fast but he and everyone else knew that he probably wouldn't qualify as the right type of race horse anyway.

Alison narrowed her eyes. "Easy, easy... shh." she said softly, in a voice that soothed all the horses that she had ever worked with, already she could tell this big guy was going to be a challenge. She whistled, "you're sure a handsome one you are." she said under her breath and looked at him in wonderment.

Aztec snorted, noticing other horse smells. He took one look over at Comet and it nearly made him go biserk. He reared up again, beginning to back up a little faster than before. He still had his ears pinned back but nothing was stopping him from trampling her. If he wanted to that is. Aztec wanted her to get away from him and he wanted her to leave now. He snorted again, pawing the ground and looking at her.

Alison smiled and moved towards the horse, "Hey, shhh, it's okay." she said softly, she didn't take the other horse's warning. All her attention was on the mustang, he was gorgeous and she had big plans for him if she could catch him she would train him.
