They would be themselves, just the other characters would treat them like they would to the other. Example:
Everyone thinks Scar is the king of the Pridelands, so that would mean that Simba is Scar's son. (Note: The characters don't change, Mufasa and Scar just switch roles) Here's some dialogue on this:

Simba: Hey, dad. Wake up, dad!
Scar: I'm not your dad. Mufasa is.
Simba: Dad, are you crazy? Mufasa's my uncle.

And Mufasa would be like this:

Hyenas: Hey, Mufasa! How are we gonna kill the king?
Mufasa: Why would you tell me that you're going to kill me?
Hyenas: You're the king?
Mufasa: Yes. Who do you think is the king?
Hyenas: Scar.
Mufasa: What?!

So tell me what you think would happen.

I think that would be udderly stupid. Each character's role is fitted to his looks,authority,voice etc. and Mufasa never told Simba Scar was his father...?

The role fits the character..

Mufasa- Strong, powerful,stride, deep voice= King

Scar- Meek, slippery,sleek, skinny, evil voice= Villian

if that happened it would ruin the movie and i would be shocked .
