This idea came to me just a little while ago, and I really think it would be a fun tradition for the roleplaying community to have every year to bring all of us together for some friendly competition and some roleplaying challenges. This is sort of a hard idea to explain, but here is my best shot at it.

This is a cross between a roleplay and a writing challenge/competition. Every week or two, I will post a new challenge round that will have to be completed by all members by a specific date. Each challenge will be different and will be focused on a different aspect of roleplaying. The setting for the entire thing will be a summer camp in the middle of the woods, and even though it won't be a traditional roleplay, a good story could very well come out of this.

Every round will tell you how many posts you are allowed for the challenge. You may change, edit, and delete these posts as often as you want until the deadline. After the deadline, no more changes can be made. I myself will be judging the posts, at least for this year. If you are worried about bias, I will be judging by a ranking system that will be converted into points. This is the least biased way I can do things, but I promise that I will not just give my friends high ranks.

After every round (or every other round depending on how many people participate) the person (or people, also depending on the amount of participants) with the lowest amount of points will be "kicked out of camp." After nine rounds, there will be only one winner. This person will not only get a cool signature banner and avatar, they will also be asked to judge next year’s competition!

Are you wondering how to get into this contest? It's easy! Just post your character below and you are automatically in!

To keep things fair, a member may only join as one character. Please keep your character's age between 13 and 18. Also, all characters have to be human.

For every post you make for the contest rounds, you will be asked to post in a certain color. It will make things a lot easier for me to judge. In your form, please list at least two colors that you would prefer to have in the order of your preference. The more color options you give, the more likely you are to get one of them. Also, when you post your color, please type the number of it according to the color pallet at the side of the post.

Name: Ashlynn West

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Personality: Ashlynn tends to be closed off to anyone she doesn't know, hiding herself behind a tough, almost uncaring mask that not many can get her to come out of. She can be a bit aggressive when provoked, but will only attack with words unless someone she loves is threatened, or they've been irritating her for days. Though it takes a while, it's usually worth it to earn her trust. She'll immediately become loyal and attentive, offering surprisingly good advice at times when asked about certain problems. She can be gentle and sweet, but only when placed in certain situations, like caring for small children who are injured, or something. Otherwise, she upholds her tough exterior.

History: Her parents died in a car wreck when she was a few months old. Ashlynn was lucky to survive herself, escaping miraculously from the accident with only minor bruises and abrasions. She ended up living with her aunt, who has incredilby high standards of her niece, and expects her to live up to them completely, and then some. Because of this and the strict rules her aunt enforces, Ashlynn tends to argue with her a lot, oftentimes refusing to even try and get along with her. Her aunt ended up sending her to the summer camp in hopes that time away from each other would give them a chance to be more open, and maybe even fix the broken relationship between them.

Appearance: Ashlynn has scruffy, dark hair that is normally worn down, though occasionally covered up by a hat. It just barely goes past her chin, and is cut a bit unevenly and choppily. Her skin is tanned from the sun, speaking of many hours spent outside. Combined with her height of 5"8 and her slender build, she has an appearance similiar to an athlete. She has green eyes, the shade resembling the color of leaves when hit by sunlight. She has an almost impish face that tends to label her as a trouble maker, and normally wears jeans and t-shirts, accompanied by a hoodie or jacket when it's cold.

Name: Alexa "Lexi" Rae Chortie
Age: 18
Birthday: October 31st
Personality: Lexi is a girl who is always trying to be kind. That doesn't always mean she is though. She defends others a lot of the time, and this can bring out her nasty side. She goes for the throat and can really hurt others. Lexi is stubborn and doesn't like to back down. This makes her a good athlete. She is also scholarly and likes to read and annalize things. She is often made fun of but she tends to ignore it. Once she is friends with someone she is easy to get along with. She takes jokes well and can be made fun of with out it setting her temper off. However Lexi isn't very good at making jokes. She is social but if something else that she likes more is going on, she is known to leave her group of friends to instead go on this adventure instead. She thrives on attention and she is a huge flirt with guys. Although she has issues and still hasn't ever had a real boyfriend.
History: She is the oldest of three in her family. She has a younger sister and brother who she is very protective of. She falls into the classic first born roll and tries her best to win at everything. Lexi grew up with a good amount of money and hasn't had to struggle in life. One of the reasons that she is able to go to things like summer camp. Lexi is fearless and loves to try things. She started tennis at a young age and is a state champion. Of all things she has a fear of she had a bad experience with chickens and now can't stand birds. She doesn't scream like crazy, but she will not be seen where birds are. She has always had pets and has been known as one of those people that animals just have a natural positive reaction to.
Apperance: Lexi has thick long blond hair that has gentle curls and waves through out it. Its length goes to the small of her back. She has tan skin because of all the sports she plays, and she tends to do her free reading outside too. Lexi has light freckles across her shoulders and on her cheeks and bridge of her nose. She has a large lower lip with natural color. Her upper lip is a little thinner but has the perfect "m" shape. She stands at 5''5 and has a think build. However she does have strong legs and arms that can be seen. She also developed early and has a slightly large upper chest area. She has incredibly blue eyes that also has a little bit of a green tint that makes it look like tropical waters.
Style: She normally wears dresses and things like that, very girly and heels and all the sorts. But she does change her apperance in situations. Going some where like camping she wears a lot of shorts, sometimes too short. And shirts that don't cover her belly completely. She wears an large assortment of different clothes. In colder weather she wears jeans and zip up jackets. She normally wears bright colors. But can be seen in black sometimes. She refuses to go towards dark browns.

Name: Trey Fargo
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality: He is the type of person who is sneaky though loyal. He can get the job done, no matter how coniving he needs to be in order to do it, but he will only do it for his friends. Trey is, in a nutshell, sly, cunning, and smart in all the right areas. He has a pretty lithe form, so brute strength is not his strong suit. He prefers to wiggle his way out of a fight rather than actually fight it and is a true genius when it comes to the art of sneaking around. He has some experience with computers as well, but he really only cares to know this knowledge due to hacking possibilities. Trey wouldn't give up information on his friends/family for anything, as devious as he is. He is true to his word and would rather die than break it. He's a great smooth talker, which means he's good at making friends, though it takes a while for him to sort out the truly special ones from just the ordinary ones who would just call him for a favor.
History: Trey has lived a pretty average life. The only true incident was that he was bullied a small bit in grade school, though he learned to weasel his way out of it quickly by the time he got into middle school. He makes average grades at school - nothing stellar, nothing awful. He once got into a car accident when his friend lied about being drunk behind the wheel, but thankfully the accident wasn't too bad and he managed to get away with just a scar on his forehead. A little after the accident, however, he lost his older sister who was caught in a similar crash. She was not so lucky, and was pronounced dead the following evening.

Name: Jaimie Lorelai Anasazi
Age: 16
Gender: female
Personality: Jaimie tends to be by herself quite a bit. It isn't because she isn't friendly, but because her people skills are simply not the best. She'd rather hide in the girl's bathroom with a book (even one that she doesn't like very much) than go to the school's pep rally. However, she does have some friends. Those friends will honestly tell her what they think of her, which makes her happier than anything. The main thing they tell her is that she's a klutz and dork. She could trip over anything and always jokes that when she gets her first boyfriend, it will be by tripping into him. She loves her shows, movies, and books and tends to fangirl with her friends a lot.
Whereas she isn't that skilled with people, she's very gifted with animals. She volunteers with the local humane society and usually sings to them as she works if she's the only human in the room, even though she is not a gifted singer in the slightest. Jaimie's very sweet and would give the shirt off her back if someone in need asked her for it. She's very smart and could have easily made A's in school but always spent that extra study time to get those grades with her friends or a book. She's quite quirky and also has an undeniable charm about her. Although she's always thought that people didn't like her much, most everyone at her school and work honestly likes her.
History: Jaimie's parents died in a fire when she was thirteen. She and her older sister, Shae, had been at the movies at the time of the fire. Her sister, who had begun getting into trouble around town, cleaned herself up so she could be Jaimie's guardian. Jaimie had always worked to keep her nose clean as a thank you to her sister. The two of them struggled with money for the first three years but when Jaimie was sixteen, Shae got a job as a manager of a hotel and they uprooted their lives in the town they'd known all their lives and moved into a small house near the new job.

Appearance: Jaimie has reddish-brown hair that falls just bellow her shoulders. She's tall, standing at about 5'7" and quite skinny. However, much to her frustration, she has a lot of trouble gaining muscle, even though she jogs every morning and plays soccer in the back yard every afternoon. Her skin is tannish, but on the pale side, due to all the hours she spends reading. Her eyes are a soft hazel brown that reflect her moods and emotions. She always wears a locket her sister gave her with a picture of them and their parents on one side and a picture of her and her sister of the other. Generally, Jaimie wears button-up shirts with camis underneath, jeans, and boots.

Name: Markus Eric Stone

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Personality: Stoic and often silent, Markus can be classified under "loner". He isn't depressed or emo, but only has major trust issues with people, fearing that, as soon as he's close to them, they'll disappear from his life. He's very independent, but doens't like leading anything. He prefers to either A: not be a part of it or B: work behind the scenes where no one can see him. He's very shy and won't talk to many people, being considered a selective mute because of it. He prefers to keep his thoughts and actions and thoughts to himself unless he feels that what's being said is wrong and wants to correct it. Once someone knows Markus well enough, he's very kind and considerate, taking in your opinion and often following that person around so that he has someone to talk to, but he's often misjudged by others because he doesn't talk to many people. He's used ot the nicknames though. They don't bother him. He doesn't feel like friends are necessary to have in life and are optional, either way, he has trouble making friends and that's one of the reasons why people stay away form him.

History: Markus was in and out of the orphanage growing up. He'd get adopted by a family, but would then run away because he didn't want to stay. He knew that the people that came to take him weren't his real parents from the time he was five years old. But he took a liking to a man that had adopted him when he was ten. He never had any children and was diagnosed with heart cancer six years ago. On Markus's eleventh birthday, the man was taken to the hospital where he died later that day. Markus was devastated and traumatized at what he'd seen and was quickly taken to the orphanage again. A few months later, he was adopted by a single woman that he quickly grew to like and even call "Mom". While on a drive to the store, however, things turned tragic. They'd been in a car accident and she managed to push him out of the car before she got hit, killing her on impact. From then on, Markus had felt like he'd been the one to cause what had happened to those nice people. He was later adopted by another couple, but tried to make it so that they wouldn' have the same fate as the man and the woman he'd been adoped by before.

Appearence: Markus is very tall, 6' 3'', lean yet muscular, and has pale skin. He has black hair closely cut to his head, stops at his shoulders, and bangs that hang in his eyes sometimes. His eyse are a very bright and unusual hazel blue that, in the right light, can look green. He often wears his favorite black hoodie and loose fitting t-shirts with various rock bands on them, or longsleeved gray or white shirts. He is always wearing either black or denim jeans and black converse. He always wears silver dog tags that were given to him by the man on his birthday.

Name: Willow R. Hill
Age: 14
Gender: female
Personality: Sweet and caring, this young girl is fiercely loyal to her friends. She quickly can become attached to something, and she has problems letting go. Mainly outgoing with most people, but she can be a little shy before she knows you completely, but once she gets an honest opinion of you, she pretty much sticks with it. She can be scatterbrained at times, which is a major fault for her.
History: Born 14 years after the youngest of her 3 oldest siblings, she was raised in her home with virtually no other siblings or the later part of her childhood. She has had a life in between pampered and tough, since she loves so much, she often gets hurt. Her parents decided that she would enjoy being sent to a summer camp, and signed her up.

Appearance:
She has black hair, with orange tips on the end, and two reddish orange streaks in the top of her head. (Naturally, her hair is dark brown.) Accenting her palish skin, she has dark brown eyes. A little over average weight, and also short for her age, at 5'2'. She usually wears either shorts and a t-shirt, or cargo pants with hoodies(during colder months). She usually wears her necklace, which is a smooth, tan piece of wood with a cross burnt into it as a design, as well as her black slap-bracelet watch and many random wristbands, such as "Honor Student" and "teacher's pet".

Age: 18 years old

Gender: Male

Personality: Frankie is very dark and very quiet. When he speaks, his voice and low and it's barely a hush whisper. Frankie's mother Damitri can only bring out the better side of her son. Frankie is quiet but can be deadly. He doesn't like a lot of people in his space or anywhere near him.

History: Frankie was born with 2 younger brothers and one older brother. Frankie was an unexpected birth at the time, growing up with his mother and father in a double wide on the side of town. Frankie had grew up with only a handful of friends. Frankie's mother was a very hardcore girl too and she didn't let anyone push her son around. After Frankie's father's death, his mother never re-married. Frankie was enraged of how his father had left his world without saying goodbye. Frankie ran away that very night, soon getting caught and brought back home. Damitri was so worried for him. Frankie had gotten in a fist fight at school and things went pretty bad. Cops were called to settle it out. Frankie was only arrested once and had spent a night in jail over the summer. Frankie managed to stay out of trouble up until this point.

Appearance: Frankie is slender and has a light build to him. Frankie has some muscles but doesn't show them at all. Frankie has a tattoo of a dragon wrapped around his forearm. He also has his will tattooed on his back. Frankie has one more tattoo and it says, 'Born with nothing, Die with everything' on his other arm. Frankie is very thin and he is tall. Around 6 foot. Give or take some inches. Frankie has thick black hair that often droops over his icy blue eyes.

Name: Jack Kayden
Age: 16 years old
Gender: Male
Personality: Quiet and calm, but is also very serious and determined to make things right when he has to. He's also romantic and a dreamer, often drifting into his own perfectioned world and often mistaking it with reality. Only then he wakes up, but it's often too late and he ends up hurt. He's quite an introvert, doesn't like getting lots of attention. He is friendly and a very kind and gentle guy, open to new relationships, however, he often ends up sticking to his few good friends, unsure if anyone would want to talk to him.
History: He was born as a single child with both of his parents. However, when Jack was 2 years old, his parents got into a big argue, and father left him with his mother and grandmother. Jack grew up with them as a sweet gentleman, and was often labeled as a loner Romeo in several schools he went, even though he didn't quite agree with that label. He was actually kinda careful with girls since he broke up with his latest girlfriend who appeared to be very rude. He is always looking for a new love, but doesn't set it as his only goal in life or the only thing he should care about.

Appearance: Jack is kinda tall, 6'1". He has tan skin, short black hair. His weight is average, he is thin and kinda muscular. Jack's eyes are dark green. He also has a tattoo on the outer side of his left arm of his name written in Hindi letters.
Most of the time Jack wears sleeveless white or variously textured T-shirts, black or dark blue jeans or shorts, and black trainers.

Name: Jared Adkinz

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Personality: Jared is a very outgoing and hyper kid. He's dyslexic so he has trouble reading things, but he's very optimistic about it. He likes to joke aound a lot and almost never takes anything serious, and is very loyal. Sometimes he can be a jerk without knowing, but is usually very kind.

History: Jared's dad entered the army when he was six years old and went missing in action, his mother moved in with his grandparents and he lived there for awhile. His mother met a new man, and they got married. His mother moved in with his step father, and his step father sent him to summer camp.

Name: Katherine 'Katie' River

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Personality: Katherine is a semi-social girl. She likes being around people, but crowds and huge groups intimidate her, and so does team work. She prefers to work by herself whenever possible, otherwise she just doesn't know how to concentrate! She is very open about the way she feels and she would never beat around the bush even after that has got her in trouble. She can be clingy with whatever friends she can find. Childish, she loves to be the center of attention and is often oblivious to the fact she is bullied unless it's explicitly said to her. She takes things to heart and can be incredibly sensitive. Instead of withdrawing whenever she's hurt, she is often found clinging even harder to whatever attention she can find in hopes of seeing something positive. Most people see her as melodramatic and too over the top because of this.

History: Katie was born in a small rural town as an only child. The modest house they lived in was secluded from the rest of the village by a forest. The fact she couldn't see any new people without having to go through the scary, dark place made the little girl upset, and also bored. Her parents were both very awkward people - her mother was a dreamy introvert who always wanted to be accepted, even in her older days - immature at heart and always the one to say the wrong words in the wrong places. Her father was a straight forward and brutally honest, although loving and accepting man. Before Katherine could reach 7 years of age, her father was promoted to work in the city. Katie's mother had demanded to stay close to him. Although at first they argued about it, eventually they all moved to a humble flat in the city. The girl didn't object to that much, figuring she would be able to make so many friends! However, only being able to see her parents awkward way of socialization she figured that's the way everyone communicates. Being sheltered from the rest of the world, not as much as by her parents as by circumstances, led her to being a very open, clingy and dramatic girl.
It also led to constant bullying by her peers. Although at first Katherine was oblivious to it, a nice girl in school had told her the harsh truth. Katie eventually developed a low-self esteem, unsure what made people hate her. She began clinging even harder to any potential friends she could find as a source of security she used to feel with her parents, which, by the way, she couldn't see quite as often - although prestigious, Katherine's father's job was long and tiresome. She could hardly talk to him at all as he was too busy and too tired. Her mother did spare her some attention, but she mainly focused on how Katie's father was doing. As summer started, Katherine became even harder to stand. She just wanted some attention they couldn't realistically give her. Unable to think properly, her mother signed her daughter up for a summer camp in hopes of finally getting a rest.

Appearance: Katherine has short dark brown hair, which can look black in the right light. Her hair is straight and smooth, and her hairline starts with a slight widows peak. Her hair is almost permanently tied in a braid, and if not - in a ponytail. It's almost never let loose. Her skin is tan and still slightly bruised from her childhood, although as she doesn't quite go out as much in the city the scars are slowly beginning to disappear. Katie has a rather high forehead and and dark eyebrows which are a little thicker than the average. Her round eyes are of the color of copper. Her ears are medium sized and a little elf-like in appearance. Her nose is thin, short and a little upturned, her lips are very thin and quite dull in color. Katie also has quite prominent cheekbones. This all results in a very childish appearance, and the rest of her body proves it further - she is 5'4 tall and and her weight is a little under average, although not too skinny. She is somewhat toned as well, although it isn't very apparent. Neither her hips or her shoulders stick out too much and her stomach is more or less flat as well. She prefers wearing simple, but somewhat fashionable clothing - her closet mostly consists of bright shirts, t-shirts and various types of jeans and pants. She doesn't quite like skirts because she learned that practicality is more important than aesthetics while she was living in her first home.

Name: Deveron Quillian Black

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Personality: Calm and level headed, has a "don't give a crap" attitude, isn't much of a talker and has that mysterious feel to him, has a very good way with words and is often caught using sarcasm or snide remarks. Doesn't open up right away, once he knows you and trusts you, his barriers start to come down. Dev just has that cool swagger feel to him, he knows how to stay classy and does in most situations. However, on rare occasions, if Dev loses his temper he explodes, and it's not fun. Something about Dev just attracts others to him, maybe it's his held back personality or piercing eyes, but of course he is oblivious to the unspoken attention he gets. He never changes for anyone, his personality always remains the same. He feels that if you have to change yourself just to please others, then you're not true to who you are. He is a very firm believer in individuality and hates those who conform just to get attention.

History: Dev is the youngest in his family. He has an older sister, Claire who is 26 and an older brother who is 21, named Owen. Technically, his brother and sister are only his half siblings. His mother wasn't super smart in her younger years and had three different kids with three different dads. Although Claire and Owen both keep in touch with their fathers, Dev has no idea who his father is, and his mother said it's gonna stay that way forever. Dev didn't care though, he always looked up to Owen and looked to him as a father figure. Other than his awkward father situation, Dev has had a fairly normal life. He went to school and excelled in sports and any other activity that he tried. Little did he know was that his brother secretly harbored intense jealousy towards him.

Appearance: At 6' 4", Dev is tall, muscular and well built, he believes in having good health and being in shape, obviously it shows for him. He has sun tanned skin and small freckles on the bridge of his nose and across his cheeks. Dev has dark brown hair that is cut short, but not buzzed. His eyes are a piercing shade of bright ice blue, they look as if they could be fake but they're real. Dev's outfits consist mostly of jeans (not skinny jeans), tight v-necks, converse or vans, and zip up hoodies when it's cold.

Name: Dexter S. Tartakovsky
Age: 17
Gender: male
Personality: Dexter is very standoffish about everyone and everything. He likes to compare himself to Dexter in the American TV show Dexter's Laboratory and loves to tinker with machines and think. He is very quiet and when talking almost always has a sarcastic or snarky remark to make. He can be nice, after you get to know him. One just needs to get used to his heavily used sarcasm. He adores a good challenge.
History: Dexter grew up in Colorado on a ranch, building his own tractor engine at the age of eight, he was a wizz with mechanics and when his father refused to buy him a TV, he built himself one, where he first saw the show Dexter's Laboratory, he set his life along with his namesake, building and experimenting. His father died and he went to live with his aunt in New York, he got his hands on motors and other things, got a job at a car company at fifteen and has had many engines and contraptions to tinker with ever since. He decided to go to the camp to see what he could see, after his Aunt threatened to send him to public school if he didn't socialize with other people.

Appearance:
Dexter is a tall kid, standing at about 6'5'', he towers over most other kids his age. He is very skinny, thin but not exactly what you would call gangly. He has shaggy black hair, styled in a sort of emo look, but more 'professional' as he calls it. He wears thick large rimmed glasses, generically thought of as 'nerdy' glasses. He always wears a blue suit with a brown ankle length trench coat and white converse. He always has a pen in his front pocket.

Welcome to summer camp everybody! I am so glad you all be joining in the fun, so let's not waste anytime and get on with the first contest round.

The introduction

It is the first day of camp and everyone is arriving on the site. Your first challenge is very simple. Introduce your character to the story. You can do this in anyway that you choose, but your charcters must be on the camp site. How does your character make his/her arrival?

Introducing your character for the first time in a role play is very important. The first posts you make for this character set the tone for the rest of the role play. First impressions are very important, especially to a story, so put some though into how you want your character to be perceived by members and characters alike.
