The band that inspires me would have to be Papa Roach. Jacoby Shaddix inspires me a lot. He grew up without a father starting at the age of 6 years old. He had lived in a bus, tent, and tee-pee. He was working as a janitor in a hospital... But he is living proof that you can turn nothing into something. and I just adore him for that. Plus he and Tobin are really cute lol <3 Papa Roach for ever <3

So tell me what bands inspire you and why. I like to know other people's stories too

There are a couple different ways to answer this question. The only one I can relate to enough to give an intelligent answer to revolves around inspiration for my poems.

I don't have many published online (a few scattered around here, maybe one or two on DA), but I've written several dozen. Truthfully, my inspiration comes from everywhere. I usually write in the lyric format, though, and a lot of my inspiration for the poems comes from various bands' lyrics:

Skillet - They've been one of my favorite bands for a while now, and I just love several of their songs. From their messages to their melodies, they never fail to impress me lyrically, and so I take some inspiration from them.

RED - I discovered them more recently than Skillet (but still several months ago), and their lyrics bring out the strongest feelings with the subtlest of phrases: "On this time / I can make it right / With one more try / Can we start again / In my eyes / You can see it now / Can we start again / Can we start again" and "When I see your face / I know I'm finally yours / I find everything / I thought I lost before / You call my name / I come to you in pieces / So you can make me whole." In short, I strive to somehow imitate RED's style, but I always seem to fall short.

Thousand Foot Krutch - Again, this band has some amazing lyrical power. They're more alternative rapcore than Skillet and RED, but they still have some brilliant messages and lyrics. From "Can't take it anymore / Shake until we move the floor / What are we waiting for / Let's go / Tired of being ordinary / Don't care if there's people staring / Rely on your scent to carry / Me on" to "I will not look away this time / Take all these cuts and make them shine / Don't wanna be perfect, just alright," they, too, never cease to amaze me with every album.

Most bands (the ones above and many more) inspire me mostly with their lyrics and the feelings left by hearing their songs. I guess they affect me more because I write a lot, but that's where my inspiration comes from: music and life.
