History/Personality: Because Bridget has never had a mother, she always assumed she had died a long time ago. Without a female figure, Biddy grew up to be quite the tomboy, helping her father out with the farm as often as she could. Even after her father remarried, she remained very close to her father and talked to him about everything. Along with her rough and dirty nature, Biddy is very light-hearted, playful, and opptimistic. Although she hasn't had the easiest life, it has always worked out for her, so she thinks that everything will always sort itself out. She is a very sweet girl that means well, but she also has an indepedant spirit and isn't always the most clever. She often rushes into things using her heart instead of her head.

History/Personality: Rosalinda was the first born of the king and queen, so she had lived a very spoiled life, to say the least. She tends to be very stuck up and likes perfection. Although she is rarely seen without a smile, no matter how obviously fake and small, she has a way of making an irritated command without a trace of a frown. She has a voice that can cut like a knife and eyes that practically shoot fire. Despite her smiling face, Rose feels very trapped by all the fancy clothes and servents. She really wants to marry who she loves instead of a prince. She gets into many ugly arguements with her parents and doesn't even pretend to be happy with the arranged marriage. Around her one and only friend, she tends to be rather quiet and hopeful that by some miracle, she won't have to marry the prince.

History/Personality: Nothing much is known about Sake other than he is one of the best when you need someone dead. He is quick in his work and leaves no trace behind. Although he is strong with his dagger, he has a few tricks up his sleeve. Literally. He excells mostly in potion making, but he knows many incantations as well.

Crush: Rosalinda, but later will be Eve
History/Personality: James is a complete gentlemen, as he has been brought up to be. He knows what he is supposed to say and when to say it. Even if others forget their manors, his are also perfect. Although James isn't thrilled about the marriage, he isn't against it either. He has learned to just do as he is told without question. He can be a very intellectual guy, though, and although he tries not to let his emotions get in the way of his duties, he has quite a lot of them. He is also very observent and can read people very easily.

History/Personality: Regina married Gerald when she was only twenty, and was very much in love at the time. But when the king showed an interest in her, Regina rethought her choice in husband. She stuck out the marriage long enough to have her baby girl, but left soon after to marry the king. Needless to say, Regina is a very selfish person who makes quick decisions based on what will help her now. She never thinks ahead in life, which is why she has grown to have so many regrets. She thinks everything about a person is their image and their reputation, and she tries to push this on her daughter, Rosalinda, who doesn't take this way of thinking very well.

History/Personality: Emma is, in one word, curious. She is fearless and is unafraid to stick her nose where it doesn't belong. She also doesn't like to let things go. She will keep at something until it makes sense. She can be very blunt and brutally honest. It almost seems like she can't lie except when she gets into a tough spot, in which she can create an elaborate cover story with a completely straight face. She isn't the most emotional person and definately isn't one to comfort people, but when she does tell you that everything is going to be alright, you know that she means it.

History/Personality: Anthony travels with the Prince when he comes to met and marry Rosalinda because they are old childhood friends. Anthony is the silent type, but he is a loyal friend and would kill or die for either the Prince or their other close friend. Even though he seems to carry around a gloomy cloud over his head, his pessimistic attitude doesn't seem to drive away his two best friends. He can be very cynical and sarcastic, but some find his dark humor funny...

History/Personality: Gerald is always happy with his life and his family. He seems to never get mad and is a completely sweet heart. He is also very selfless and would give his last peice of food to a stranger if they asked. He is very trusting of his daughters and hardly ever questions them. But if they seem sad or mad, he will try to comfort them although he doesn't always find the right thing to say.

History/Personality: Eve was the younger of the two princesses and has been doing maid work for the majority of her life. She is very determined to prove herself. She knows when to be quiet and take orders but if she feels confident enough she’ll fight something she doesn’t like loudly. She dislikes people who think they’re better than anyone else. She’s spent her whole life helping everyone else and just wants to be acknowledged. She has always wanted to be a good daughter and a worthy princess in her parents eyes and still works for it.

History/Personality: Graham has always loved using swords. When he was a kid, he was picked on but it didn’t take him long to figure out that he could fight back. Ever since then, he’s stuck up for people who struggled with bullies. He fell in love with sword fighting when he was young and excelled. He was a natural. Everyone expected him to become captain of the guard, they just expected him to be older when it happened. Graham is brave and loyal almost to a fault. He would give his life for the kingdom in a moment. He doesn’t love easy but when he does love that fierce loyalty goes to that person as well.

History/Personality: Allistair is very smart. He is logical, stern, and always goes after what he wants. Allistair was the oldest of his siblings and often flaunted that to them. He knew he would be king and often proved himself worthy even when he didn’t have to. This irritated his father but he became king anyway. He is rather selfish at times but has calmed down a lot with age. He still spoils Rosalinda and tends to be rather clueless towards Eve.

History/Personality: Will was raised as a humble farm boy and sticks true to that. However, he harbors a crush on Rosalinda and tells people that they get along. In reality they don't speak. In spite of this, he truly cares for Bree and would never lie to her about anything serious.

History/Personality: Mary is sweet natured and kind. She tends to be rather quiet and not many people ever know what she’s thinking. However when she’s comfortable, like she is with Rosalinda, she is loud, giggly, and dorky. She likes to have fun and live in the moment. Mary was abandoned as a baby and taken in by a nice couple. Because of this, she believes in random acts of kindness. She was never confident enough to make friends but managed to become best friends with the princess.

He’s been friends with Will and Anthony since he was a kid and sees them as brothers. He’d die for either of them in an instant.

I am having so much trouble trying to create a first post for this, so you might have to wait a little while. Unless you want to post first...?

I'll brainstorm and if I think of a good opener I'll do it.

Bridget shifted the rocks of the path leading from the dirt road to her family's house, staring at the distant stone castle set on top of the highest hill in the kingdom. Even though she couldn't see them, Biddy imagined what the royal stables would look like nestled behind the neatly groomed gardens behind the castle. Biddy had never been any where near the castle. She hardly ever wandered into the more crowded, more wealthy sections of the kingdom that surrounded the royal family in a perfect circle. Out here on the farms and ranches, there was no perfect symmetry nor the perfect manners of higher class society. Out here, one could almost feel free.

Biddy wondered if Will enjoyed the walk from home to the royals every morning. He was traveling towards the work he loved, Biddy couldn't help but doubt that he felt as light-hearted about the nearly hour long journey as he told her he was every time she asked. Biddy was glad to be waiting for him out in the chilly evning, and even more glad that she could offer him a hot meal, cooked by Gwen, of course, when he did finally return. After all, it was not only neighborly curdosy, but a tradition ever since his mother became ill.



Gerald chisled away at a rough peice of log with smooth strokes, slowly creating a new table for a family just down the road. They were in some desperate times, so Gerald hadn't asked for the same payment he would have for anyone else. Still, his family needed the money too, and Gerald was anxious to finish the commission and collect his payment. Glancing away from his work for a moment, he watched his step-daughter, Emma, painting an intricate flower design on a carved jewely box Gerald had just finished that morning. This project wasn't due for another week, but the carpenter business had drastically gone down in the last couple of months. Thankfully, the payment for that box would be more than enough to keep his family warm and fed during the winter, but of the client did not approve of the design, there would be no money. It had to be perfect.



"Rosalinda, dear! The ship will be arriving soon. Please, hurry up in there," Regina called through the thick wood of Rosalinda's bedroom door. The maid's had pronounced her fully dressed and ready to welcome her future husband to their kingdom a while ago, but Rosalinda had yet to emerge from her room. With no response coming from inside, Regina knocked at the door, saying again, "Rosalinda! Can you hear me in there?" Regina knew the answer to the question, but she was trying to put on the happy family show for the servent ears that were always listening and spreading rumors throughout the kingdom. When her daughter still did not answer, Regina quickly threw away the acts as her patience disappeared. "Rosealinda Thorne, this prince will be your new husband whether you come out from that room or not. The carriages are living in five minutes, and I swear to heaven if you aren't down there..." Regina's threat dwindled to nothing as she caught the eye of a servent who had paused in her dusting to listen more clearly. Throwing her hands in the air, Regina stormed down the hall and through the doors of the castle where the carriages were waiting for the family. "I cannot believe the nerve of your daughter sometimes," Regina muttered angrily at her husband.



Rosalinda ignored her mother's voice and pounding fist, preferring to continue sitting on her cushioned window seat and staring out at the horizon where the prince's ship was, indeed, floating closer and closer to the shores of the Thorne kingdom. "This day has been coming for so long, it almost seemed as if it would never arrive," Rose said in a far away voice, speaking mostly to herself, but also talking to her best friend, Mary, who Rose had requested to be at her side this day. "I actually started hoping that, somehow, we would never come to this day on the calendar."
