Here are my characters. I just kept them from the old topic because I really like all of them!

Name: Jackson
Age: 3
Gender: male
Breed: Belgian Malinois
Role: One of the new dogs
Owner: Dominique - a hard, humorless middle-aged woman who only shows a smile when she is really really happy
Appearence:
Personlity: Jackson isn't one to play by the rules and usually just does what he thinks is right. He has a stuck up attitude and finds something wrong with everyone. He is far from a gentleman and really disrespects females, both canine and human. He also has no patients for, well, anything really. He is very stubborn and hardheaded, often running into things without a plan. But he is a fairly agile dog and is his smartest when he is desperate, which is why he made it through the training. He is also very fast, which is why he is used mostly for chasing down criminals.

Name: Sadie
Age: 4
Gender: female
Breed: Dutch Shepherd
Role: One of the team dogs
Owner: Daniel - a respected member of the team who is stern but just and often acts the leader
Appearance:
Personality: Sadie is a dog that likes to stick to what she is told and isn't a rule-breaking. She isn't a softie, though. Sadie is not afraid to state her opinoin and will pick fights with those who disagree with her. For the most part, she has a good temper and gets along with everyone. She has a very kind heart and takes good care of her team, acting like the mother when someone is hurt. Still, she knows how to hold her own in a fight and hates it when someone tries to protect her.

Breed: Canaan Dog
Role: Fighting Dog
Owner: all the fighting dogs are owned by the same person, I'll let you create him
Apearance:
Personality: Tango is still new to the fighting arena and is still very tramautized by the experience. He is a very timid dog who almost never speaks up, but the owner seems to favor him for reasons the others don't know about. When Tango is cornered, her completely looses control and just blindly attacks. He is actually kind of afraid of himself in a way because he doesn't know what he'll do if he's pushed over the line.

Breed: Swiss Mountain Dog
Role: Fighting Dog
Appearance:
Personality: DJ is like the big daddy of the dogs, making sacrifices for the others and is completely selfless. He has been fighting for a while and knows all the tricks. He will often fight for one of the others if they aren't feeling up to it that day. DJ really wants the others to go free, but he knows he's lived his life and isn't very concerned for what will happen to him. He is a sweet guy and very wise, but he won't let anyone put themselves in danger for him. He doesn't feel like he's worth the effort.

Name: Nine

Breed: Mutt
Role: Fighting Dog
Appearence:
Personality: She was born into the dog fighting world, the ninth and last puppy of two fighting champions, hence her name. Nine is a survivor with a very sweet heart that doesn't belong in the rings. She isn't the greatest fighter and every time she is in the rings, there is a good chance she won't come out. She is a very friendly dog who tries to see the best in othes, which is why she attempts to reason with the dog she has to fight before the fight begins. It never works. She usually backs down from a fight and is very submissive, but she is surprisingly good at holding her own in her physical fight, but in a verbal disagreement, she is always the first time back down.

Breed: Golden Retriever
Role: One of the new team dogs
Owner: Xavier- a tough man who shows how much he loves his dog all the time but is always stern with her at the same time
Appearance:
Personality: Brooke is happy and energetic. She loves everyone but if she gets mad at someone for a good reason, she remembers it and hold a nasty grudge. She's very protective over anyone she loves and is close to, although she knows when to let an argument go. Her hyperactive energy is the thing that makes her act like a pup the most. When she gets excited, everyone knows about it. She hasn't learned how to keep it bottled in yet.

Breed: Doberman
Role: Team dog
Owner: Andy- an energetic man in his mid thirties, likes to laugh but knows when to get down to buisness
Appearance:
Personality: Tough and brave, Duke doesn't take excuses from anyone. He spots the goal and he expects his team to go for it with him. He likes to keep his nose in his own business but training two newbies makes that difficult since he also likes to make sure things are being done right. He isn't very patient but is always trying to fight that part of him so he doesn't come off as someone no one should deal with.

Name: Maybelle

Breed: Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd
Role: Fighting dog
Owner: Rick- a tough, surly man who doesn't see anything wrong with dog fighting. To him, dogs are just puppets and a way to earn money. He generally has a large, thick cigar in his mouth and a nasty, smug smirk on his face.
Appearance:
Personality: Maybelle is a sweet dog but in the ring she has a completely different personality. Rick often calls her his little Hulk because once she's angry, she's not much like the dog she was a moment before. However, usually she is a loving dog. She would be the first to try to make a newcomer feel welcome and would comfort just about anyone that was upset, even someone she didn't like. She came to the fighting life when she was a puppy and imprinted on DJ as a dad figure in her life right away.

Breed: Border Collie
Role: Fighting Dog
Owner: Rick
Appearance:
Personality: Teal is a dreamer and is fiercely loyal but no one knows that about him. He has been in the fights his whole life and accepts it as how things are. It's hard for him to hear about what's outside the rings since it's all he's ever known. He goes in the ring and gets things done. He loves all of the dogs owned by Rick but never shows it so they probably have no idea. He's often quiet and lost in thought. To everyone's surprise, he'd be the first to agree to an escape plan if he thought it could work.

Role: Fighting Dog
Owner: Rick
Appearance:
Personality: Jules is free willed and adventurous. She got to the fighting life about a year ago and isn't adjusted yet, although she tries to hide it. She likes to feel like she's in control of her life a little but even if she knows she isn't. She hates all of the fighting and wants everyone to try to get along. When she's in the ring, she uses defensive moves mostly and tries to do as little damage as she can.

Ooc:// Yay! I'll start right after the dogs are brought to the scene of the murder and right before Jackson and Brooke find the journal.

Bic:// The red and blue lights of a whole team of police cars flashed around the scene as Jackson walked around the building, nose to the ground. Even though there were no scents that he could pick up a trail on, at least he was free of the leash. He spotted Sadie sniffing around the ground of the exit door, but she dared not step passed the yellow tape without her owners permission. But there was nothing out here, Jackson was sure of that. Trying to remain inconspicuous, Jackson trotted around the building with his head ducked low, as if still searching for a scent. When he turned the corner and made it to the less crowded side of the building, Jackson sprinted inside a door left open just enough for him to squeeze through. So far, no one had come inside yet, and it was obvious why. The place was totally and completely empty. Just a giant cement room.

Brooke cocked her head as she watched Jackson go through a door. That looked interesting. She gave a wag of her tail and quickly darted after him. All she could think about was how this was probably something Duke would swat her with his paw for. However, her curiosity, as always, won out. She pushed her golden body through the door and looked at Jackson then around. This room was a disappointment. There was nothing here. Nothing for her to sniff or look at.

Jackson jumped around when he heard someone come in after him, scared that it might be Duke or Sadie to scold him. Luckily, it was only Brooke, but his tense nerves got the better of him when he barked at her, "What are you doing in here?" It came out rather sharply, but Jackson was annoyed that someone had snuck up on him.

Brooke rolled her eyes at Jackson's snappish attitude. "Relax. I just wanted to see where you were going. Quite a boring room, isn't it?" She looked around, still disappointed with the empty room. She shot him a mischievous grin. "You were afraid I was Duke or Sadie and I was gonna bust you, weren't you?"

"No!" Jackson shot back, turning away from her with his ears pinned against his head. Needing something to do, Jackson trotted away from her, sniffing around the empty room. A scent caught in his nose though, and he quickly followed it to the back corner. He spotted wait looked like a book laying on its side. "Hey, look at this!" he called to Brooke.

Brooke pricked her ears and bounded to him. She leaned down and sniffed it curiously. "What is it?" Before he could say anything snarky, she said quickly, "I mean, I know it's a book. But what is it?" She cocked her head. It could have something to do with the case. He heartbeat picked up as the thought entered her head. that would be great! They could prove themselves to their teammates!

"I dunno," Jackson said as he flipped the book over with his muzzle. Using his paws, he clumsily flipped through the pages. "It looks hand written," he muttered as he came to last page with any words on it. Jackson wasn't an expert at reading human writing, but he knew enough to recognize an address. "This here looks like the location of some place."

Brooke looked over his shoulder and gave him a toothy grin. "We should go! They've have to respect us and listen to us if we did this!" She was getting ahead of herself, she knew that. But the idea was so exciting... "We could crack this case wide open!" She wagged her tail a couple of time.

Jackson didn't want to eagerly agree with Brooke, but she was right. All Jackson really want was to prove himself to his new team and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. "I think I know where this place is," he said as he looked at the address again, remembering seeing a street sign with the same scribbles on it just a couple miles from here when he first arrived at this town.

"Great!" Brooke pranced to the entrance, swinging her tail from side to side. She knew she was probably way too excited and took a deep breath. Over excitement could get them killed. That was a lesson the older dogs had been trying to teach her. She steadied herself then slowly crept out of the room.

Jackson quickly followed behind Brooke, sneaking back out the door and creeping along the building. He glanced around the corner, taking the lead, before nodding towards a group of buildings across the street. "We just have to make it over there without anyone seeing," Jackson whispered to Brooke, waiting just a moment afterwards before bolting across the street. Luckily, no cars drove down this way much, so Jackson barely looked at another except the buildings until he was safely behind a wall.

Brooke flattened her ears against her head then ran after Jackson. She joined Jackson and shook her long fur. "That could have been a disaster," she stated. "How close are we?" She glanced behind them to make sure they weren't followed. So far, so good. This was going to work.
