Okay. I can not BELIEVE there is no topic for this. I need to know if there's any fellow obsessed fans. ...or fans in general. I won't discriminate. ;D
Copied and pasted from another topic cause last time I attempted to make this topic I had a ton typed then accidentally closed the tab and lost it and got REALLY REALLY MAD:

The Avengers Lately I've been to lazy to bother with reviewing films. Or haven't seen one decent enough to rate that I haven't already. BUT. I'm making an exception.
If you want it in short and care not about my soon to be long rambling review, then take my word for it.
GO SEE IT. You won't regret it. On a scale of one to ten, it was an ELEVEN.

**WARNING: SPOILER HEAVY**Also known as "Avengers Assemble", depending on where you are, I rate it... There is no need for this. It was EASILY one of the BEST movies I've seen in my entire life.
In fact, I knew so much about it (actors, effects, etc) before I even saw it, that I knew before sitting down in the theater on opening night it was going to be a favorite.
I've heard that you could see this movie without seeing the five films that build up to it (Iron Man 1 & 2, Cap. America, Thor, and the Incredible Hulk), but it certainly DOES
help to watch them first anyway. It gave more understanding to character events and personalities, and leaves less time learning about them while watching Avengers,
and more time watching the ACTION. And trust me, there's a LOT. Some say it dragged, but I guess if you have a passion for one or more of the characters (such as myself),
it isn't that bad. Not to mention the constant wise cracks and humor (most often brought on by Stark) kept it rolling smoothly during intense or what some MIGHT
consider 'dull' scenes.
Effects are always something I stress about (especially in werewolf movies, but I won't get into that), as I'm not a fan of CGI, but I was REALLY impressed by the work in this.
It wasn't perfect, but it was good enough to convince you while being wrapped up in the story that it looked real and didn't distract from the focus of what was going on.
The characters all looked fantastic. Some had some slight modifications. Iron Man's armor was different by the big battle as Joss Whedon didn't care for the triangle shape
on his chest, and revered back to the circle. And Captain America's suit had some modifications. I didn't really notice even though I looked, so I guess that was fine.
The big issue was on Bruce Banner (or at least in my circle of the fandom), as he was once again recast for the Avengers. Say what you will though, personally I thought
Mark Ruffalo was the best Banner we've seen since Bill Bixby's. He brought life to the character that lacked in the two movies, and his character probably had only what...
ten minutes of screen time. The suicide bit really threw me, but over all, I hope he gets his own Hulk movie. Or that we get to see him in Iron Man 3 since he and Stark have
such great screen time together. I think that'd be fantastic. ...but I digress. To any Ed fans, give Mark a chance. He really pulled it off, and the fact for the first time in live
action Hulk history, he played both Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde (so to speak). I can't imagine the stress and humiliation that must have caused him, and I admire him greatly for it.
There did seem to be times where Black Widow and Hawkeye stole a lot of limelight in the movie, but with their own lack of individual films (only guest appearances [BW in
Iron Man 2 and Hawkeye in Thor]), I can easily over look that.
Surprisingly, through all the trailers, clips, released photos, and interviews, I'm surprised that it all felt fresh when I actually saw it. The plot wasn't as weak as I imagined it would be,
and everything really came together. The surprised death, though unexpected and sad, I have to admit felt needed to really pull the group together as a team and finally get stuff done.
And I was also shocked that every character (even Loki) seemed to have about the same amount of screen time. Some say that was also a draw back as it over whelms with
so many big names, but I thought they worked together well (especially during scenes where Tony would snark to the others). The only bits that had you leaving to the imagination,
was the end where you ask... 'WELL WHAT NEXT?' There's been talk of a sequel, though nothing is set in stone. I imagine it'll happen AFTER Iron Man 3 next summer,
Thor 2 shortly following, and Captain America 2 some time after that... No official Hulk movie yet... *facedesk* alkjdflkaj. Mark Ruffalo commented that they'd be INSANE
to NOT make an Avengers sequel, and with a record-shattering $200.3 million at the domestic box office (easily de-throwning HP 7p.2 with only $169.2 million), I simply agree.
The only thing left to add is that, being a Marvel film, DON'T LEAVE BEFORE THE CREDITS END. If you don't know this by now you're insane.
(If you don't live in the US, this may not count for you, considering the end scene was filmed AFTER it premiered outside of North America. Sorry 'bout that.)
Seriously. Movie of the century. GO SEE IT.
I was considering including the 5 (currently) films that lead up to the Avengers here, so if you have thoughts on those, do share! I may do so later.
...and maybe the animated series, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
