This is a topic for animated movie/TV series facts only!
That means only facts that are not as well known about animated movies and cartoon series. No obvious facts or bloopers! (I hope you understand that.)
(Mods, if this isn't allowed, feel free to tell me or delete it . . . or move it if it goes somewhere else (but I highly doubt that this goes anywhere else) . . . . Thanks!)
To start things off, I betcha you didn't know this:
- In the original Disney animated film, Lady and the Tramp, the three cocker spaniel triplets that Lady has are named Scooter, Fluffy, and Ruffles. (Just found out: the Lady clones are all GIRLS) And of course, there's the pup that is a spitting image of his father: Scamp.
- However, in the sequel Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure, Scamp's sisters were renamed Annette, Colette and Danielle. Scamp remained the same.
Now you know something new!
And I have a lot more where that came from!
Do you have any rare facts/trivia about some of your favorite animated films? Post them here!

I really don't know, but it might have been because the writers didn't do their research . . . . heheh. Personally, I like the original names better. They probably thought that since Lady's name sounded sophicated, maybe her daughters needed fancy-sounding names too.
Odd how the world works, ne?

Disney originally wanted to make Aristocats live action, with real cats.

Zorro the Coyote wrote: In Fox and The Hound, Chief was intended to die in the train scene but (like Trusty meant to be dying getting crushed under the pound wagon in Lady and the Tramp) Walt Disney said the scene would be too intent for younger children, so Chief was just knocked out!
In the Lion King, Simba was going to be WHITE but it was changed due to the fact that the writers would be sued for copying off Kimba the White Lion.
In 101 Dalmatians (the film), the actors had their faces covered in beef paste to make the puppies lick them other then bite them.
In the Lion King, Scar was just going to be a rogue lion who wanted the throne but the writers thought it would be more dramtic if it was a member of the family.
In the Lion King, Elton John and Tim Rice wrote 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight?' to be sung by Nala and Simba but they were 'a little shocked' when they found Nathen Lane and Ernie Sabella singing it for their characters: Timon and Pumbaa!
In the Lion King 2, Vitani was going to be Shanti which means 'she-devil' in Swaili and the termite mound which the Outsiders lived in was going to be a crystal cave. Zazu was also going to have a girlfriend called Banti but they couldn't find the right character design for her, Kiara was going to have three other brothers including Kopu and Charka but they were cut and Zira was going to work with the Hyenas instead of the Outsiders.
Wow, those are some interesting facts!
I heard about the TLK/TLK2 ones . . . cool facts!
Thanks for writing!

I don't believe this. If he was white, then all of the lions would have been white, so it would be completly different and far from the global realistic colours they used. I'm sure this is just a rumor made up to sue Disney once again on this.

Hear you go:
TLK1 1/2:
When Timon is rewinding the movie at the end, the Disney logo at the beginning plays like it's in fast-foward, instead of rewind.
At their first home by the water hole, Pumbaa hands Timon a drink in a coconut shell with a straw and umbrella. As Pumbaa starts to leave in the next shot, the straw is gone, yet Timon seems to be holding and drinking through it. In the following shot, the straw is back.
101 Dalmations:
When Anita is pulled from the pond, the book she was carrying has become a handbag.
When the truck is being repaired, the sign at the garage says "AAA" (American Auto Association), instead of the British "AA" (Automobile Association).
When you see the sky over the city, at one point there are two moons right next to each other.
The Fox and The Hound:
At the end of the movie, after Copper protects Todd from Amos's gun, you see Copper walking away from the water's edge. One of his footprints appears before his foot is put on the ground.

I heard that they called Simba "Kimba", according to an interview that was done while they were working on the film. I guess they soon changed it . . . . probably because the name was used already.

Yes, I already heard this and it seems much more believable.

Yeah, I think so too.
Anywho, I have more facts!
Lady and the Tramp:
- For a long while, Si and Am (the Siamese cats) were called Nip and Tuck.
- Tramp was originally called Homer, Rags and Bozo during movie production.
Bambi: (in honor of the release of Bambi 2 (which I will always call "Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest") and all that good stuff)
- The buck that a grown Bambi faught with for Faline's love was named Ronno.
- *gasp* Faline and Bambi are cousins. Faline's mother (her name is Ena) is Bambi's aunt and his mother's sister. (heheheh Disney likes incest.)
- The female rabbit that Thumper falls for is named Bixbi.
The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride:
- Originally when Zira falls to her death in the end, she chose to fall (aka, she commits suicide). They changed this scene because the writers thought that it was a bit too "dark" for a family-friendly film by Disney.
Sleeping Beauty:
-Princess Aurora is the only "princess" to ever wear a royal crown. Because of this, she is also called "Crown Princess Aurora".
And speaking of Princesses: These characters are the only official Disney princesses (because they were born as royal princesses):
- Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
- Snow White (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
- Ariel (The Little Mermaid)
- Melody (The Little Mermaid 2)
- Jasmine (Aladdin)
- Eilonwy (The Black Cauldron)
- Kida (Atlantis: The Lost Empire)
- Kiara (The Lion King 2)
- Tiger Lily (Peter Pan)
- Pocahontas (Pocahontas)
(To make this clear: Belle, Cinderella, and Mulan are not princesses. Yet they are used in Disney's Princess Collection because they become princesses. However this doesn't make sense because Mulan never becomes a princess.)
If I forgot any princesses, let me know!
I think this is a good place to stop for now.
(edit: OMG, time to break away from Disney for a sec!)
An American Tail series:
- The third American Tail sequel, "Mystery of the Night Monster" actually caused children to go into fear-induced seizures. Because of that, the movie was soon discontinued in the US.
- Before the sequel "Fievel Goes West" was released, a television series called "Fievel's American Tails" was shown on TV. It only lasted for one season though, but a few episodes were released on video.
Now, I'm done.

actually, it's Aladdin that has that but it's only on the VHS...
Who Framed Roger Rabbit:
Bob Hoskins has been reported repeatedly hallucinating after shooting scenes with the Toon characters, ( I wonder if Micheal Jordan had the same problem)
