Yes, the rolling banners. I know this feature is new, but I already have a complaint on it. My problem? I don't like it, it's annoying, and it slows down the loading time. Yes, there is the option to hide it, but only for a week. A week. I don't want to have to hide the darned thing every week. I think there should be an option in our profiles to completely disable it. We shouldn't have to be forced to view this, it's nothing important anyway.

I don't even know why it's there in the first place... all it does is make it look like there are ads on the sites, and besides that, there's fan news for it... there's really no need to have this up.

I feel exactly the same way, it's just an advertisement. And I also agree, a news works just as well, if not better. Most people will just disable this pointless feature. Which is why Steet probably made it so we can only hide it for a week.

It also sits over top of everything. If, for instance, you call up the "additional smileys" window, the banner will superimpose over it and stay in the way no matter what you do. And worse still, it lays over top of the "close" command on the pop-up window, so you have no way of closing that smiley pop-up window unless you physically back out of the page, which eliminates the purpose of posting in the first place. That happens on deviantArt a lot too.
Yep - I agree...dumb. Unless there were some way to keep it from forcibly laying over top of everything else BEYOND just that "hide the banner for one week" thing.

Hmm, I've just experimented with that, and that didn't happen to me. Maybe it's just your computer? The only problem I had was when I go on TSS, and that welcome screen pops up, it overlays. Edit: Well, it seems to be happening to me with the log in window. My guess is that it differs from different screen sizes. Either way, the feature is still a nusense. I hated it ever since Steet brought the idea to life.

We should have the option to disable a lot of things around here. None of the things get the option. But yeah, that's the solution. Personally, I'm on the "I don't care" side.

Been back on AS all of an hour (collectively) - Rolling banner is annoying me no end already. :'D
I really hate it. More so when it doesn't even blend with the background it's on and draws the eyes and is just THERE all of the time.
