Whether it is personality or actions, how can you relate to Balto? I have been shunned by society in my childhood, so I share being a outcast like Balto was. I also can relate to Aleu since I am having trouble myself trying to find who I'm supposed to be or how to accomplish it.

So how xan you relate?

Can you be more specific about how you claim to have been "shunned by society"? It would help explain this topic in greater detail...

Sure.
I was laughed at because I was overweight and had a love for dogs. No matter how much I tried to fit in or get others to intervene they still teased me and beat me emotionally like I was some punching bag. For a long time I wasnt voluntarily social because I was afraid they would just hurt me again.

EDIT: I must also add that people were also heavily judgemental because of my severe acne.

I believe Balto was more defensive than stubborn but yeah that could also work. I tend to be somewhat stubborn myself.

You know, you guys are focusing on the negative side of Balto, and yourselves. Allow me.

I can relate to Balto for being strong. No matter what, Balto never let anyone get the best of him. Balto also did what was right. He had the choice. He could of stayed back and let Rosie and everyone else down, or go out and risk his life.

Meaning: I don't let people push me around, and I do what I feel is right.

Er... interesting topic. As for the negative aspects, I've was bullied a lot in middle school, though that's subsided now that I am in an all girls high school. I tend to let others walk all over me, but I'll stand up for my friends as if my life depended on it. Sad, really, how I can stand up for myself when it comes to my parents but not anyone else. xD

As for the positive sides, I relate myself to Balto because he is so loyal. It doesn't matter what someone has done to him in the past, he is still willing to give someone a second chance (no matter how much of a mistake it is). He has only a few close friends, which in my case I tend to like considering I can divulge any of my secrets to them and know they won't say a word, and he tries to be helpful to others even if the costs outweigh the gain. I try my best to help people, even if it does more harm than good for me, which I consider positive since it helps other people.

Like Mighty said, though, I have a feeling this topic will be full of negative aspects. Focus on the positive ones as well! (;

Well that is worth commenting on! *WHEW!*

You are right, of course. And yet, there are soooooome fans (who will remain nameless :lol: ) who seem to believe that the Balto character is lame, weak and boring because he doesn't have enough peccadillos or even serious flaws...that, SOMEHOW, that makes him extremely uninteresting.

Personally, I think they're full of it.

On the positive side, I think me and Balto share determination to accomplish something. I once had to write 5000 sentences in order to get my music back and the thought of Balto kept me going on.

Well I'd think so, since I also referenced to Aleu in my first post of this topic, so it should be ok.

As far as how I can relate to Balto, it's difficult to say. I guess I just try to be there for people when I sense something's wrong.

On the other hand, I like Aleu pretty much only because I find her personality to be intriguing.
