Frankly, I'm utterly nonplussed that there is not already a topic for this.

For those of us that read the books, (in my opinion at least) they did not change too much of the original story. A few things here and there, but for the most part, I was highly impressed! The actors played their roles very nicely, and although I myself could have preferred more... detail in some scenes, it was an extremely enjoyable movie which I loved until the very end. They did a very good job with it, and I simply cannot wait until Catching Fire comes out in 2013!

Anyone else apart of The Hunger Games fandom? (:

I'm almost halfway done with the book, and I must say it is EPIC.
I can seriously see all the hype about it. The characters are easy to relate to, it has good imagery, etc.

edit: Finished the book, I have to say it deserves a 5/5!

My best friend and her mom invited me along to see the movie a while back and I accepted their offer...

OMG! WHAT AN AWESOME MOVIE!!! Wheee!
I love it so much already! AHH!!

I also got the first book in the series sent to me by mail from an amazing online friend for my birthday. So I can't wait to start that. At the moment I'm in the middle of the Harry Potter series (I'm serious, I'm in the MIDDLE of the fourth book xD) so reading THG will have to wait until then...
But I LOVED the movie! :D

So far Effie is my favourite character haha!

The movie was a pretty good adaption, aside from most of the action sequences, beside the one with the fire they pretty much all were disappointments. I dont know, im a long term fan of the books and when they annonced the movie I expected a 15 certificate with a bit more of a gritty edge to the action but instead they gave it a 12a.
My stomach sank the momment I heard! Hahaha :')
I'm 15 myself and I don't like loads of gore, but maybe just a bit more or at least clearer action sequences and less camra shaking would've made the movie 5 stars for me.
But the books themselves are AMAZING! :) Mockingjay, well that was one hell of a ride! If your not there your in for a treat! Its an amazing read, but prepare yourselfs for a bit of heartache .. and some very very graphic gore!! :) Pretty good end to the trilogy if you ask me, maybe the end few chapters were a tad rushed? But what the heck.
Check out Hunger Games!!! *whew*
And if you love hunger games, you will ADORE maximum ride by James Patterson, have been a fan since the first book and the 8th book comes out this august! :D Highly recommened!!!! ^^ :)

Indeed, The Hunger Games is incredible! (: Both the movie and the book.
I, too, am also surprised at how nicely the movie matched the book. I've never seen a movie that went so well with the book in my entire life. I only really found 2 differences that were the slightest bit bothersome, which is a fantastic low amount compared to other book-to-films out there! For anybody who hasn't seen/read The Hunger Games, I highly recommend it!
