Do you have a feeling sometimes, that you are "different" for not listening the music your friends loves, and that person in "your type" should listen? I'm not talking about hip-hop if you like metal, and metal if you like hip-hop. But maybe if you listen to metal, there's some popular matal bands that everyone loves, but you hate them? Post it.


Hey - A Polish rock band. I'm getting sick of everyone saying how awesome they are... I never liked them...

Within Temptation - I must say that their music is beautifull and amazing, but I can't stand the singing >_<

Metallica - Aaaargh! They are everywhere! Okay. I don't mind listen to them, but I can't see what's THAT awesome.

Korn - I don't like them. Why every metal has to listen to them? xD

Queen - Classic = good? I never ever liked them. Don't get me started with Fredie Mercury.

Paramore - Everyone is getting excited by them because of Twillight...

Evanescence - Nothing special at all.

Depeche Mode/Radiohead/Muse & alikes - Annoying voice. And boring. Really.

Black Sabbath(with Ozzy and alone)/earlier Ozzy Ozbourne - This guy's voice is just horrible. Geez. I don't care it's a classic. It's just so bad. It hurts my ears when I hear it. However, new Ozzy doesn't sound that bad. And Black Sabbath with Dio was awesome.

I'm obsessed with Within Temptation, and Evanescence is great. Though to each their own opinion, I suppose.
One Direction. I wouldn't say I hate them necessarily - in fact the one song I've heard it really good - I just hate the constant fantasizing, talking, obsessing, and fangirling all the time from every single person around me. :/ Hence why I haven't gotten into them at all.

And I do like Ozzy, when I get in the right mood. Not simply for his voice, but I fall in love with their actual music, especially their guitair.

Honestly, I can't think of any bands I "hate" that everyone loves. My family crams down all this crap down my throat about how bad Lady Gaga is, Rihanna, Katie Perry, Bruno Mars... and thus they don't let me listen to their music. I don't care what they say, though, because I would have to hear their music for myself before I could make any proper judging...

Your parents are simply protecting you from the garbage that today's generation considers music! LOL! And I second your statements about Freddie and Ozzy! ^^

As for the topic at hand, a lot of my friends are into some of the new rock bands that are popular today such as Breaking Benjamin, Avenge Sevenfold, etc. which is stuff that isn't particularly my style. (I say new because my taste for music is almost strictly Hard Rock and Heavy Metal from the 60s to the 80s. XD ) I wouldn't say I hate them because I've never really listened to them, but based on what I have heard so far, I also wouldn't say that it's stuff I'll keep on listening to. The only type of music I can say for sure I hate that everyone loves is Rap, Hip Hop, Techno, and Pop.

Anyway, I can't stand about 3/4 of what's on the radio now, and the 1/4 I can stand gets stuck in my head often enough and for long enough to get annoying really quickly. Examples (and I don't care if they're bands or just single artists):

LMFAO (what kind of name is that anywya?)
Eminem (makes me hungry because I think of candy)
Lady Gaga (don't get me started)
Justin B***** (again, don't get me started)
Adele (CANNOT stand her)


The list goes on and on and on and on.

I just don't like Ozzy and Queen and all the others I listed and I don't care if you do. Big deal... I though the point this topic would be so easy to get that you won't need to analize the world "hate" and tell me how much you like bands I don't. Thank you Origamist and Balto Train for bringing something on topic already.

I admit I once wanted to listen all those "popular" stuff when I was a kid. Britney Spears, hip-hop etc., but thanks to my dad I grew on The Beatles, maybe that's why I never grew attached to what most of my classmates listened to xD Primary school times: you say Justin Timberlake, I say Linkin Park xD

Other band I'd have to list would be Turisas. I listened all their discography but I only liked few songs. I hate how some of my friends look at me when I say I actually don't really like this band xD

AC/DC: Does. Not. Want. The only songs of them I remember listening to was off the Tony Hawk's Underground soundtrack and unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to turn them off at the time.

KISS: Urk, same as above. I didn't like them either.

The Rolling Stones: Never really liked them.

Queen: Already mentioned, but please never force me to listen to them..ever.

Metallica: My. Ears. Why is it every person I see who claims to be a fan of metal lists this ban as a favorite?

Aerosmith: Never understood the hype, I did like that one they recorded with Run DMC though.

Sex Pistols: Didn't like the name, didn't like the music.

Black Sabbath: Oi, I don't think there's much more to say, it kind of speaks for itself.

Led Zeppelin: No, no, and again: no.

Iron Maiden: Not as much as the others, but I don't listen to it.

Almost all mainstream artists today: Yes that includes Katy Perry, Lady Gag-me, Ke$ha, Nicki M. (yes I'm putting a rapper on here too) and most of the rest associated with them. They are a big reason I stopped listening to the radio and mainstream in general.

And the list goes on. If you're offended well XD, everyone has their own opinions and tastes. I'm sure you hate my favorite bands/artists too Lol.

When I was in school, everyone liked the popular pop stuff and country. Both of which I can't stand.

I couldn't give you many specific names, but there are a few:

Beiber (With the exception of very FEW bands/singers, I cannot stand female singing.
Don't ask why, but for that and the fact that he abuses the word 'baby' are the reasons I can't stand him.)

Queen (My one bus driver played it SO loud to drown out the screaming of the children,
my ears literally bled. Since then, I cannot listen to a Queen song without feeling very angry.)

Ke"$"ha (...Dollar signs are NOT 's's, moron. I'm not even going to get started on her "music".)


Anything else is fine with me. Or at least have enough songs that I don't want to destroy the radio should they come on. ...unless it's rap. Rap is evil.

How do you even pronounce "$" anyway?

Paramore: Only because of Twilight my friend. Although to be fair, Hayley Williams has an amazing voice, especially in "Airplanes" I just don't like the rest of their music.

I partially agree on TDWP. They're decent, but not as good as Demon Hunter or August Burns Red. Or Phinehas, for that matter.
