You don't even need to read the article to know this is a bad idea!
Central park is supposed to be a park for people! Not a wildlife park! Putting wolves in central park is only going to endanger the wolves, the people, and the animals that are already there! Plus, if you do put wolves in central park, you're probably going to have to close off the park completely just to ensure the wolves, the other animals, and the people are safe! And there's still the threat of one of them escaping, and when that happens, oh man you can forget it! It's over!
And if you do somehow find a way to get the wolves to live in central park while still keeping them, the animals, and the humans safe, then you still have to deal with a whole ton of challenges to keep them there!
First, you're putting wild animals in a park that's smack dap in one of the largest and busiest cities in the world! They're going to be hearing and seeing a bunch of sights and sounds that they would never see in the wild! That's just going to confuse the animal and cause it to go crazy! Heck, I feel sorry for the squirrels that live there!
Then there's the problem with them howling at night! Them howling is just going to keep the residents of the apartments up all night! Sure you could argue that the sounds of traffic already do that, but that's virtually a way in New York! Most of the residents are used to sounds like that. If wolves howling is to also become a way of life, it'll take a while to get used to it! And in the time it will take to get used to it, the city council will probably end up getting a ton of complaints and the wolves will probably end up getting removed anyway due to public demand.
Then there's the mess that comes along to taking care of wolves! First you have to clean up after them after they do their business, and in an enclosed area like central park, you're going to be doing a lot of searching several times a day to find their "land mines" to clean up. And the longer they sit around, the more they'll stink up the place! And let's be honest, who wants to walk in a park that literally smells like crap?
Then there's the issue of providing food for them. These aren't herbivores that can just eat the grass off the ground of the leaves off the trees, these are carnivorous animals that rely on meat as their daily source of survival! Once you let them loose in Central Park, they're going to hot on the tails of the squirrels that live there and you'll end up finding a ton of half eaten squirrels with their bones and guts spilling out all over the park! If you want to feed them without a hunting party getting started, you'll have to most likely give them big raw pieces of meat. And there's still the possibility that they won't eat all of it and the remains will end up spoiling and stinking up the whole park!
There's a TON of problems that will come from trying to put wolves in Central Park. What good could this possibly offer in any way? Well, that's my two cents on this. If anyone else wants to put in their two cents, please do! lol!
